Beta for sure. Once I get some money, I'll pick up a spare. I love mine.
Also, Conky, I still want that 120. Just waiting for my last W2 and, taxes permitting, I'm snagging it. Fingers crossed.
There's a beta on Craigslist here, and I'm hoping it sticks around for a couple months once I've got some gear funds at my disposal.vidret wrote:ghost echo or dr scientists mini rrr - who shall become my first ever reverb when the time is right?
I'm a big fan of the Ghost Echo. I've tried an RRR, and it's a fantastic reverb, but the Ghost Echo works better for how I use reverb.crohny wrote:Always an awesome feeling. Went to a friends show last night and got hit was some fucking wah gas. Really want that plus a new reverb. Also have a line on a new tuner which will hopefuly fix my tuning issues that I am having with all my low strings when using the TU2.
I have wah gas that comes and goes. I can't use one for shit and it always sounds terrible to me - but I love how well other people use them. And you should probably just buy a Ghost Echo.
Ghost echo sounds rad BUT it isn't stereo ins and outs AND doesn't have the versatility I want like the hall of fame, supernatural, or trinity provide. I will end upw ith all three of these fucking pedals. I know it.
i said the same thing before i got one. i tried the hall of fame, supernatural, hardwire rv7 and owned the trinity and the cathedral before. options out the ass and they're all stereo, but the ghost echo slays all of them in my opinion. i got around the stereo by just running reverb to one amp and adding a touch more of it than normal. sounds even better to me than any of those other pedals in stereo.

Word, i will have to give it a try if I get a chance. I just want to have variety. I have become a slave to digital effects because I can do a lot with a little. With a tighter budget than before (didn't have a large budget to begin with) I need to get bang for my buck. Doesn't mean I will disregard these pedals though.

Hey doom roomers. Looking for a HB sized P90. Currently very interested in the BG Pure90. Anyone tried this out? Any other suggestions? Not looking to spend a huge wedge of cash! Its to replace the D-Activator in my DT700.

If you want your run of the mill good sounding p90 in a humbucker sized enclosure for cheap look at GFS. I had one in a SG I had a while ago and it was an awesome pickup. BG seems to make rad shit as well. Interested in their lil phatty (or whatever it's called). Suppose to be a p90 in a strat single coil sized pickup.

I have tried the GFS Mean90 before but it was just too muddy for me. At least in the neck position anyway.

Nice man, tony recently got one of those to round out his stereo rig and its awesome.
Just ordered alumitone P and J bass pickups for the Kramer, along with new schaller tuners and pots, allready put nicer knobs, cleaned it, intonated, set action, wetsand and polish, I'm really digging that thing. Anybody want to buy an old epi 5 string?

What compressor? And that goes for everyone. Really been craving a purchase of a compressor lately but looking at like 30 of them I have no idea how to choose.
The Empress Compressor is fantastic; best one I've come across. But it's not especially simple to use. It takes some time to customize yourself to the way the controls and LEDs work. It's also $250, so isn't cheap. There is the new EQD compressor coming out soon. They haven't made a bad pedal, and often tailor to teh heaviez, so that's something to consider when shopping.
I've not tried a terrible amount of compressors, but Diamond, Barber, Mad Professor, and Pigtronix make some very popular and well-respected compressors, all offering something a little different. Xotic FX have that tiny one that came out a few months ago. I'm going to try and pick one of those up in the future.

Honestly, mate, there is a surprising amount of versatility to the Ghost. The Attack control takes you from a springy 'verb to a more ethereal hall sound. The Depth knob, then, goes from sweet and subtle to long and cavernous. And as I said earlier in my posts, depending on how hard you're hitting it the pedal will react differently.

With the import duties from America you'll only be saving 30 or so pounds compared to buying from a Bare Knuckle dealer like Stormshadow Guitarworks in Sheffield. I've had the Mississippi Queen before and it was fantastic—very chunky and thick, but with plenty of warmth and clarity. Bear in mind that it was only the neck/rhythm pickup I had.
