yes and no. Normally I feel like I'd be able to trust a fellow minimum wage schlup on this sort of schtuff, but I even knew before I told this guy he was a rat. This was the last straw. Before, I hated him as a coworker and sort of thought of him as a friend(kinda knew him from outside of work before), but now he's just a(n almost) former coworker whom I detest.

*note: It's incredibly difficult to get on my bad side, so this guy is a serious prick.

despite loving cats all my life and living with cats since i was twelve, since i moved from one place to another and was divorced twice i somehow made it to fifty before one of my cats died. i've lost my parents and family members, but i wasn't present. and in some ways i'm closer to my cats...i didn't sit around with my brothers every morning talking while i'm getting dressed or fall asleep next to my Mom every night. so that's as right up close and personal as i've gotten with death so far, and it was strange and heartbreaking. i call my cats my friends, my buddies, my kids, and their fates affect me as if they were human compatriots. expect repercussions, and leave yourself more space than you think you'll need. i wish we could keep our cats always. at least we get to enjoy them while they're here.

My dog has figured out that he can jump/scale the back yard fence.
He can be aggrovating sometimes, but I'd be super sad if I lost him.

Yeah... it's just so hard to watch him get sick, then get better, then sick again. :( The vet said there wasn't really much to do except some possible surgery to remove a tumor and maybe extend his life for a bit longer, but that he was going to die anyway within 6 months. I don't want to be the one to have to say "okay everyone, let's gather around and say goodbye" and take him to get put down, especially since he's not in any obvious pain (you know, he's not yowling or crying or anything). He's being overly affectionate (about twice as much as he has been in the past years), like he knows he's going to die soon.

It hurts.

we knew when it was time...she was weak and wobbly for awhile, but still herself. then one day she woke up and couldn't get out of her bed and meowed miserably. there are vets who come round to your house rather than having to pack your kitty up and take them somewhere unfamiliar, so they can be at home where it's comfortable.

i now have a policy of always having more than one cat, and spacing the ages of the cats so one is years younger than the other(s)...that way i'm less likely to wind up with no kitty friend.

I hate when people blind copy, I understand it has limited applications but in general it is pretty gutless.

In my quest for a decent baritone I ran into a store located in some far off region that claimed it still had the Fender Jaguar Baritone model from a few years back in stock.

Que excitement. Then today they come back to me saying it's not in their warehouse, it's apparently been discontinued (no duh) and don't have it on the floor either. FUCK. My search continues.

What is wrong with people not depositing checks for OVER A MONTH? A check I wrote out 7/5 was just deposited this week. So I suddenly have way less money than I thought. After a month I just expect checks to have been deposited. Who holds onto money in an unusable form for so long? When I get a check I go deposit it at an atm THAT DAY. And, whenever people do deposit a check from me they always deposit it at just the wrong time. Right after I have spent a lot of money on something, thinking I had cash to spare, or right after I pay my rent or something.

Is there some way to set your checking to void any checks after a certain amount of time has passed from the date issued - like 2 weeks for example?

When someone gives us a check, it takes us forever to get to the bank. Don't you just deduct it from you personal register so you know you don't have the monies?

ATMs are open 24/7... What do you need to go to a bank for? And unless you live in the middle of nowhere there are banks and ATMs everywhere. I can see 3 separate ATMs just from the window of my apartment. I keep track in my head. And I keep perfect track for weeks at a time. At which point I reset. It just seems ridiculous to me that someone would hold onto a check that long. Like I said, if I get a check I deposit it that day. Usually within an hour of getting it. It's courtesy to the other person, and it just makes sense. It's just worthless paper unless you deposit it.

That really only applies to people who have accounts at Bank of America or one of the other mega-huge-assraping banks. If you got your moniez in a small local bank / credit union, they might not have many ATMs out and about.

As for me, the speed with which I deposit checks is directly dependent on how tight things are that month. If I got a good cushion and no big bills coming out, I have definitely been known to forget I have that check sitting in my wallet for weeks on end before remembering and going to deposit the now beat-to-shit check a month later.

I don't think I know anyone (Just IRL I suppose) who has accounts outside of Bank of America. Also, you can use other banks ATMs. I use Citizens (I think that's what it's called, green sign whatever it is) ATMs all the time.
