If you want to make a 2 minute sample on a ReVolver you have to hold down the capture switch for 2 minutes.

Which mode do you have to be in?

I've held the switch down on all of them and it doesn't do that.

Now, in the manual is says you have to hold one of the stomps to change modes from a short sample to a long sample. I did do that as well and can't figure it out. I emailed Piort but it's probably right in front of my face and I'm just not understanding for some reason.

On the other models with different buffer length you change the buffer length range by holding down one of the switches on power up IIRC. I thought the instructions were on the decal on the backplate?

Yeah, that is how the DX works.

The manual says exactly what you’re saying but I have yet to figure it out even when following the directions...lol. It’s all good! It’s probably something silly I’m just missing.

Hold down a stomp switch
Plug it in
It blinks a bit
Different buffer mode

If it doesn't work, try the other switch

Yea...I've done all that. LOL! Do you guys think the time knob has to be set all the way clockwise? Maybe that would increase the time?

Yes.

See. Told you I was missing something right in front of me. hahahaha.

Time knob sets maximum buffer length. You can sent it high and still record short loops with holding/releasing the record switch with your foot. At least that is how it works on the DX version. Not sure how the new 120 second version works. Do you have to hold your foot the whole time or is there a latching feature?

A latching feature would be an awesome feature. At the 2-minute point it starts to become a much more typical looper. Im sure he would sell a handful in a bigger box with a built in vario and latching record/play functions. Even overdubbing would be awesome.

There is supposed to be a latching here.

It's says

"for all samples over 4 seconds, the capture footswitch will latch and stay in record mode until pressed again or the maximum sample length is reached".

So, I've done that but I guess I didn't fully understand the time knob. So, I'm good now! Thanks for pointing shit out for me guys! Sometimes I miss it right in front of me!

I asked Piotr to make a custom Revolver with Vario built inside a larger enclosure. He declined. He stays busy enough without the headache of one-offs. I get it.

Overdubbing would be next level. Actually surprised it isn't capable already. If there is enough memory for 120 seconds of buffer then I would think it could be possible to program the buffer length to be divided up across a base layer and all overdubs to 2nd layer, or some division of all. At least that is my simpleton understanding of how some of these devices work.

Is he still using the FV-1 Spin chip in the new version? I have wondered how he has increased the buffer length.

Latching record button after 4 seconds is a wise programming choice.

Edit: hit submit too early

Has the ReVolver ever been an FV1? I thought it was a microcontroller all along?

Since the DX16 it's been my understanding it's a new, higher fidelity chip.
