ha, I was the last purchaser of the $166 deal :idk:
Damn, all this talk has reaffirmed I really wanna try one. I love my afterneath, i feel like the misty cave would fill a similar role but differently? I don't know... gonna have to be on the lookout for flips. Also it all gets me excited for what will happen when Hirofumi makes an actual "reverb".
Never messed with an Afterneath, isn't that a delay with really long decay?

The Misty Cave is hard to describe, it's definitely not a reverb or delay really...it adds a clanky-ish resonance to the signal is the best I could describe it, but not in a ring modulator type of way. Like you've hooked up your guitar to some magic crystals or something. It's the right amount of weird but subtle that makes it really nice sounding. Good for 80s goth vibez. It's good to check Perfect Circuit everyday, they have such erratic pricing. Last week they had Sick Pitch King Jrs for $188 for a day, I think they're back up to almost 300 now.

I just got this toxic plant from the BST board. Another very unique, weird thing that sound remarkably useful for how strange it sounds. I'm really digging this company. I need to save up for the Gamorrah and Octavella.

The Afterneath is like 3 delays got together and made a reverb, but it can be long or short, pingy and clear or washed out, or anywhere in between. And it oscillates really easily. The Misty Cave seems like it would be cool for getting a very specific sound from the Afterneath a little more predictably. And it looks and sounds cool in general.

So, I talked with Hirofumi yesterday. The new pedals got delayed because of touring, but are still coming.

While we await news, I was wondering about a few of the other pedals that have not been discussed much lately.

The Devil Tail: is it "just" a "metal distortion" or does it get weird like a lot of his fuzzes? Is it based on an HM-2 or a DOD or something? How does it rate? Found very little about it on here, and not too many demos.

Did a CV/exp input ever get added to the Sandstorm? if yes, how is it?

And does anyone want to talk more about the Tone Axe? It still confuses me,

Or we could continue to hope/hype for a reverb, an 89 or an 87 reissue. Those ideas also work. I am pretty sure I want to try the Misty Cave and the Octavella at this point.

I don't think that ever happened. I'd be interested in another Sandstorm if it did though.

I borrowed lordgalvar's Tone Axe and posted some crappy clips and my impressions in this thread:

afaik the devil tail is based on the DOD death metal.. i don't have one yet unfortunately but the death metal is easily my favourite br00tz gain pedal.

and the sandstorm didn't get a CV input officially but i think if you ordered direct and asked for one he could probably do that.

the tone axe is really interesting, i didn't keep it for long but it's a really unique fuzz. definitely good for shoegaze toanz with chords and gated leads. not too over the top but has a weird timbre and gate to to it. i don't really get how the frequency divider thing works either but i'm sure someone here would know a bit more. i remember it reacted really differently depending on impedance/volume/whatever you were hitting it with. can be trashy or smooth or sputtery.

The Devil Tail is good if you want a Death Metal esque experience, but it get weird real fast. The filters on it are super extreme and it's the only metal distortion I know of that oscillates.
