I actually have no gas right now. Weird. I mean there are pedals I'd like to own or try, but I don't feel like trying that hard to get them.
I think I want to actually set aside my entire pedal board and learn 1 new song a week without any effects for awhile.
Is that weird????

Nope, not at all. My gear buying has been on a bit of a hiatus, and it's helped me learn how to use what I've got a lot better, and I've gotten much more comfy with my gear.

That's basically how I'd felt for a little while too. I was planing on stopping flipping gear and just keep and enjoy what I have. Well, that ended yesterday when I impulse bought a guitar, which forced me to put stuff I'd rather keep up for sale. Gas may abate for a while, but it always comes back with a vengeance.

I sort of want a Reeves Custom 12, sort of want a Hovercraft Dwarvenaut 20 1x12 combo with reverb, and sort of want to save the money for another amp, or put it towards my credit card or something. I play out very rarely, and mostly just play in my apartment, and only have a 60-watt Sunn head that rarely goes above 1.5 to avoid disturbing the building. So I want lower wattage and tube, but don't like a lot of the cheaper options out there.

I'm gassing for a Moog Slim Phatty... I've been using software synths since I've been playing and making music and I just feel like I'm missing out. Sure the price tag is a little hefty but digital synths just can't compare to their analog counterparts IMHO.

I just found out of a guitar shop that has a 1957 Magnatone Mark IV for $6,000.00
Somebody, please, talk me out of it.

Man, that's insane! I have been looking everyday on eBay but all of them have been just a tad out of my price range. I did see a couple of them go recently for decent prices. One was branded under the company, Unique. I think it went for 4-500 bucks. You couldn't find it when searching for magnatones so it went under the radar.
I've been checking my local Craigslist for one. Right before I started gassin for one of these one went for like $350 and it was pristine.

someone talk me out of the new BAT pedals......I've been wanting a good "overdrivey" pedal for a whiiiiiile now (mainly use big, burly-sounding fuzzes at the moment, ECT and HOTdog!) and that Revelation sounds sooooo damn tempting. I'm just not sure it would go with my rig....(Fender Hotrod deville 410)....help?

I really want to try the Revelation but I am pretty sure it's not for loud clean amps, which is all I have (though it would probably sound good with the amp at like 8, but I never play that high these days). Seems like it would work well if you can already get some tube breakup from your amp.

Hmmm.....well, "drum volume" on my Deville seems to be at about 2 1/2...
I AM intrigued by the Ritual, though. Mainly because it only has one knob, and I figure that if I liked the sounds I could get from a one-knob pedal, then I'd spend a little more time writing music instead of turning knobs. My guitar has higher output pickups on it though (500t) and I'm concerned it would be too much for any sort of definition, which is what I'm basically after...

I don't have much experience with high output pickups, but I'm pretty sure the Ritual would still clean up great and retain its definition. I've got a Revelation in the post right now, and I use a Fender Tremolux (so big and clean as well) - I'll let you know how it works outside the "doom stack" environment.
