Last person I expected to make a modular video.
I don't know who this is, but he's got a pretty sweet setup
Not enough VCAs though
I watch one video and now every single recommended video is ANDREW HUANG

Want to change up my mixer situation.
I want to go to an outboard mixer. So every track coming from my modular rig going to that. I want all the performance options like mute, volume, eq, aux snd/rtn, etc. I want this to work with my Apollo 8 so i can still use the high quality pre's that are in that unit and the effects through their virtual console.
Also going to be plugging various other instruments into this as well.
Obviously one way about this is just to get a mixer with individual outs for each channel and plug those into the inputs on the Apollo 8.
However, is there a better solution like getting one with ADAT / SPDIF so i can use it with my DAW both while recording and after for mixing as well? Then i also don't have to plug each individual out into one of the Apollo's inputs keeping those free?
Am I thinking about this correctly? If so, any suggestions?
Under $2k would be good.
Currently using Apollo 8, Apollo Twin, Electronaut M67 preamp sometimes, and Pro Tools as my DAW.

I think this is what you're looking for?

Outside of that, the upcoming Befaco mixer will have individual outs for each channel (even 1/4" outs!)

Was thinking more of an outboard mixer, not in the eurorack so i can plug in all my instruments and leave them plugged in while also plugging in any tracks coming directly from the eurorack. Either just a mixer with outputs on each channel but wondering if i'm missing an opportunity to get something ADAT that can hook up to the Apollo 8 so i can use it without using up the I/Os on the Apollo and use the mixer with my DAW for mixing post recording as well.

Hello, long time lurker short time poster. After years of considering taking the plunge and talking myself out of it, I've finally been broken enough to finally take it. Bought a case and some modules off of a fellow forum poster that I won't name unless they don't care, along with a few kits that i'm currently putting together (mults and a mixer). Here's my starting setup. I know there are things that I'll need pretty soon into it, then plenty of things I'll want later on, but I'm curious if there are any absolutely glaring errors in this initial set of modules that I'll want to resolve earlier rather than later.

Mostly just trying to hold of on the initial buying of stuff until I get more comfortable with my gear, but that doesn't mean I'm not willing to look into almost anything.

Wasn't somebody asking for something like this like 4 pages ago?
It was me. And the module that will get me there is arriving any day from the Czech Republic. It'll be acoustic drums, though, and they'll be mixed live.

One thing Vidret and I were talking about the other day: It's very easy to get turned on to CV and get caught up in making sure everything can connect to everything else while losing sight of whether or not you're actually going to use it in your music.

I'm happy with my case. It's all full up, 208 hp, and I'm not going to change anything or buy another case. This modular is one of the finest drum machines, if not the finest, I've ever had the pleasure to use. As an octopus ass groove box it is number one and makes me damp in my slip-slop.

Thanks for the heads up on these. Planning on rearranging the racks for the first time since starting this whole thing and now the task seems much less daunting

Trigger Riot clocks Voltage Block mostly. Trigger Riot makes the drums go boom and all the while Voltage Block is munging CV all over the place. Clocking Voltage Block from Wogglebug is also a very good time.
Also, those Knurlie screws kick ass and I'm glad I spent the extra dough on them, for their convenience.
