This is interesting, because I've also found the Ghost Echo to be a little too much or not quite enough at times. But I really like that. It's dynamic and entirely dependant on what signal it receives or flows into. It also makes for tweaking it on-the-fly that much more rewarding, which is why I'll never replace mine with the smaller one as you cannot alter the knobs position with your feet.

I could see that, the RRR was definitely more digital sounding in comparison to the GE. I didn't really keep the RRR long enough to try it out with a bunch of different dirts, my main problem with it was that it wanted to be the only digital pedal on my board. When I had the timeline powered off the same power supply the RRR would hiss to the point of being unusable, which apparently isn't an extremely uncommon problem.

I could definitely agree to that, definitely very dynamic depending on what you feed into it. I love the tone of the GE its just when in a band context to make it audible it had to be cranked to the point where it was too much verb, otherwise you couldnt really tell it was on. I was also competing against keyboards and 2 other guitar players, which makes it harder for verb to be really heard though. All though if i ever get to build another small board for home, the GE is what I will be looking for.

I still would love to pick up a Space for my future giant board, but I'm going to wait to see what Strymon come with first. I imagine their reverb pedal, if they are actually making one, will be out by the end of the year.

And yeah, the Mini-Reverb wasn't the quietest when it came to powering.

I'm excited to see if Strymon will do it as well, I'd do that upgrade in a heartbeat. (which just reminded me I need to update my timeline software  ). I might have to be one of those flippers that the day its announced I put my space on ebay  All though I'd def want to hear sound samples first, even if it turns out to not be much better then the Space you'll all of a sudden be able to pick up Space's for dirt cheap.

Thanks duders!

I'm really excited about it. I think tonight I'm going to work on the Rangemaster a bit, get some general wiring done on it. I still need the transistor for it. Black glass

Need to tidy up the wiring I already did in it. But it's been a really nice quick project thus far.

When you finish it you need to bring it over for me to check out skully. I've always been interested in something like this, and yours sounds pretty freaking awesome!

I think the real benefit is going to be the ease of integration with your Timeline, and for everyone else who use Strymon pedals with midi capabilities. The Space is supposed to sound amazing, but for those who find the user interface on the Strymon models to be a little easier to navigate, it'll be an obvious transition.

I love analog multi effects like that, remember that beast that Monolith Loudspeakers built?
Good job skullservant.
Also, Peavey 1820. Yay or nay?

Dude next time I'm coming over I'm going to bring over a ton of shit haha

The Traynor head for you to try out, the Obstructures, this multieffect. Going to be one hell of a fun day!

So yesterday I got some random people for a jam session and man did it not go amazingly. Tried to go for the whole sludge thing, but it seemed nothing was cohesive, I think two guitarists didn't work out in this case. I'd throw a riff and then the other guitarist didn't really follow the riff because a volume issue. Bassist/drummer sure was annoyed that they couldn't figure out which riff to follow.

I guess I'll stay in my math rock hole rather than find people to make something heavy work out.

Thanks man!!

And I had an 1820 for a good while. It wasn't very efficient for as much as it weighed. I also almost broke my bumper off trying to hoist it into my car

You nailed my thoughts right on the head my friend! I just want to be able to use one midi controller for both so I can line everything up easier. The main problem right now is that the space has 1 sound per bank while the timeline has 2 so you'd have to have both delays work with that verb if their sync'd. Hopefully if strymon does this they will allow them to be midi sync'd so you can program individual verbs and delays together.

Fine by me!!!

Definitely we'll have to break out the video and audio again when we try everything out.

Oh and now that you've built your Dirt multi-effect now you gotta build a delay / verb multi effect!!! Imagine.... Zero Point / Dirt Bag / Cave Dweller / Rub-a-dub!!!! It would be a cacophony of cascading delays!!!!

i will ship back the SC clone evan monday. didnt really jive with it much at all. not into it. Not your fault Evan, seems to be built just fine.

Rockin on bretts amp. First time I applied some power to the PT yesterday to test the heater wiring and the pilot light. All looks good.

In other news the tourbox will be expanded into 10 pedals. Woooooo (ric flair style)

I fucking love herbal teas. I can't stand normal tea, and I rarely ever drink coffee, but green tea, mint tea, vanilla tea, earl grey, lemon & ginger with honey—oh yes.

to me it's pure green (jasmin) tea or nice black tea, like Earl Grey, English Breakfast No.1, stuff like that.

i used to drink a lot of booze and smoke a lot of pot and also drink lots of tea, but this is what remains... this and smoking some nice Black Cavendish on the pipe... i'm so not a badass...

i like it a lot, but there are still others by them i far prefer. I consider Lift Your Skinny Fists... to probably be the most important record in modern history, this one did not live up to something like that, especially since they've been sitting on that material for like 10 years or more than that........ really good record, but i was expecting something a little more special.

i like the Ghost Echo because the way i have it set it is clear that reverb is on, but it is not overwhelming, when it comes to clean tone, and then when you shoot fuzz into it there's a different dimension which is you can create these really ethereal tones and drones with it, which is what i aim for most of the time. if i was going for a more "rock" tone or whatever i would look at something else.

YES. It'll be awesome to jam out again, plus hanging out at the Ancient HQ is always a good time.

And I've thought about a second multieffect ALOT. I was just thinking about what I would do with it, how I would wire it up and all. I have still been thinking about making a stereo CaveDweller into Rub A Dub on a 4DPDT with dual gang pots on 4DPTs. That'd be rad as hell. I've been finding a lot of mods to the Cavedweller while working on space6oy's. Bright/dark repeats, stuff like that to make it more versatile.

I think the perfect multieffect that I would pair with the one I'm building now would be:

Double Flush Trem -> CaveDweller -> CaveDweller -> Rub A Dub.
I'd wire the trem for dual mono out so that you could send it to both of the Cave Dwellers and have one with Reverb for some crazy stereo shit.

BAM

No problem duder. At least you got to try one out to see what you don't like!
