i mean... i KNOW what a Ric is... mostly 'cause'a all the TB hooplah over OMFGBBQSAUCE Michael Cera's Unworthy Ass Is Using A Ric! bullshit over at TB. and i fucking LURV that movie. books were fantastic and the movie was a great translation.

i guess i just don't get the Bass Lust. i like basses that look neat. i don't know enough about them to know what makes a good tone. i can tell if i can get something i like out of it pretty quickly, but when people ask me if my fretboard is wenge i'm like, "nia. fuck YOU. that shit right there? that is ULTRA WENGE ALPHA PLUS yo.". but i don't know SHIT about basses.

seriously. i can't tell a P from a J and i don't want 9 different basses with 9 different Have To Have sounds. shit's too complex. gimme a pedalboard with a good preamp, some toys to play with, and a decent bass that's comfy. i'm good.

I can't help it... I used to want to build guitars... so I have supernerdness about shapes... Shit you don't want to know how picky I am about flying V differences... I bet most peeps can't tell... But....... first fretless I ever played was a Ric in a store when I was 14... in made a impression for some reason... and Pulling Teeth by McTallicA was what totally got me like fuck guitar I want to play bass... then there is FLCL...
