Just note that these plastic ones fit 10mm buttons and have no other way to be tightened, unlike the metal ones that have screws.

Well that's kind of dumb. I'll take calipers to my stomps to see if it fits the ones I need. Jean is sending me a couple of Barefoot buttons to try out. Mad props to Jean for being a good dude! So if those work out, I'll know what I need to do!

They're so easy to make until you realize you need $15,000 in shop supplies and equipment and 10 years of fabrication experience to make them for $1 each

If you already have a 3D printer, design software, and the knowledge and experience to make something that will be rugged and not break when pressure is applied, then sure.
