I'm really sorry to whomever has me for Secret Santa. I just bought a BitQuest. I truly doubt I was getting a BitQuest. Listen. If you're my Satan and you've bought me a BitQuest.... Just send it anyway because having two of those is like a wet dream.
one can never have too many bitquests

Dang, changeez...I sure hope you aren't using a ventilator for a drum machine.
Oh, it's because it is made for power chords! I see!

My house too man. I kept thinking my beta lead needed a recap...took it to my friends and it sounded great...sucks. Sorry man. Get a generator!

I bought one of these from the local hardware store. Cost 24 dollars in Sweden, which translates to about 3 dollars in a country with a normal cost of living. Dunno what they are called in English - network interference filter is the literal translation. Just a transformer and a fat cap and some other junk. Really helped in my old apartment that had dirty power.

goroth, it almost looks like you bought a cool/cute pet instead of some type of power supply

While I can totally see that, irl it looks much more like a boring electrical plug thing.

Thanks, guys.
Yes, I need an anthropomorphic power conditioner to cheer me up.

Bonus with a generator: when it starts to run out of gas, you can make your amp do this cool power amp tremolo thing where it turns off and on.
My old studio had the worst power (it was a scummy old building from like 1900 which is old for California)...threw breakers constantly and tried a lot of conditioners and stuff...nothing worked. A variac might be a good thing to try at least for your amp. Good luck man.

Thanks, your lordship, I think a generator's out of the question though. I live on the third floor. The only place to put a generator might be on the roof and I'm pretty sure I don't have roof access.
Variac's probably out too. My little practice amp is a cute transformerless number with a two-prong plug.
I've got a regular surge protector which I usually plug my computer into. Gonna try that to hear if it makes a difference. If not, some type of Furman device would most likely be the thing.

I was just reading up on the Furmans. Seems like most of the lower priced ones are just surge protectors. The expensive ones are the ones with the real circuits. I don't know though...gotta take everything said on message boards with a grain of salt (

). Good luck. Report back what you find!
LA is crazy with power draws and stuff. I know my house has a grounding issue and I have replaced all of the wire in a few rooms but I know some secret old wire still exists. The voltages drops here when people get home and does our gas pressure (and I have resized all the gas lines and replumbed the whole damn house). But at around 4pm it takes 3-4 times as long to heat up the oven...big cities man.

Yeah, I have almost this exact surge protector. Except it's not a Furman.
So, I'm pretty sure this Furman is just a surge protector.
Anway there's some filtering. Hopefully something like that'll do the trick. If not, I'll have to pony up a bit more cash for something more effective.
