Okay I'm generalizing here,...but I know a dude who is exactly like that. He may act like he's doing it for health or ethical reason,...but he's only doing it cause he thinks it makes him more attractive to the opposite sex.

I'm with behndy. I don't think he has good intentions. He probably plays classic rock standards and has a couple pedals as toys, but can't possibly envision a situation where a bassist would base his entire set around effects. And if he did, he probably wouldn't consider him a "real" bassist.

The more I think about it the more I'm seeing it your way. I don't know; I've just always ignored the guy, or rolled my eyes and moved on.

FWIW his pedal setup is MicroPOG/EBS BASS IQ/VTBass then he has etc; as if anything else is an afterthought. Yeah I hate him.
