Yea it all pays off. Last month I took up a haul of my heads that need work and was going to take it to a tech in new orleans. it made it to my house. haven't had a free day or weekend to bring them over.

Yeah i need to get my laney looked over as well. Some days its as clear as a bell, others it sounds like theres loose voltage or a shitty cap in there somewhere.

And Ive given up on the MIG. Ill have to get it repaired to stock and try to sell it. Shit, if I can get within $200 of the local asking price I'll be in the clear, then I gotta decide whether or not to sell the Laney as well and get aomething in the 100w range or buy another cab.

Also I've got a second band going now. Nothing at all like Khemmis -- black/death/sludge/hatred. If you need a soundtrack to misanthropy, here's your huckleberry - https://glacialtomb.bandcamp.com/
This is fucking rad. :thumb:

Any of you doom nerds using volume pedals?

My wah is also a volume pedal so yeah, there's technically one on my board but I don't use it.

Have not used one, have seen them used to great effect by doom bands that are exploring dynamics (which for the genre really means "quiet bits sometimes" )

I use an Ernie Ball. It's probably got the smoothest taper of any that I've tried. I dig it a lot. I use it for volume swells, but it's even better used when we are working something out and I need to turn down real quick so we can still talk to each other. I probably use it for that more than within songs.

I'm using one of the Dunlop ones because it works as an expression too. Mainly using it in that capacity with the elements to use the mix knob as a volume swell basically. It also works well as a volume pedal. Really smooth and even taper and the metal enclosure doesn't feel like I can break it. Plus it's pretty small.

I used to use mine for dynamics and getting cleaner sounds out of a cranked amp, but this is what it's used for about 75% of the time now haha
