Finished Bioshock Infinite last night. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. I rate it up there with the all-time best games I've ever played. Like FFVII, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, etc. good. Only shooter I think that can possibly come close is like the first time I played Half Life or maybe Portal. It's -THAT- good IMO and well deserves the plaudits it's been given.

Four simple words to dumb it down:

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW........... NO FUCKING WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!"

You can play nethack on phones now? 2sik. Nethack is hilarious and I play it from time to time but never really get anywhere and get annoyed by it and stop. Amazing how the devs have thought of everything though.

I'm playing inethack, it seems to be a pretty good port. I can understand that, it is super frustrating; super frustrating video games are my jam.

Apparently I was playing a lot of nethack knockoffs growing up. It's like I've been introduced to the best possible version of my favorite childhood game. Semi-text based adventures really appeal to me.

Man. Maybe I'll start Nethack.
I'd play the SHIT out of Castle of the Winds and its sequel if they worked on Windows 7. Maybe there's a program they can be run in.

Castle of the Winds are the best games ever! If you want to go throught the trouble of dualbooting Ubuntu, you can still play them using Wine. We're you able to actually beat either of them? I did but it took sooooo long.

Way too lazy for that
Nah, I never beat either of them...got pretty far in Castle 2 though, and that's my favorite. The first one is way more difficult than the second, man, even that first kobold can fuck you up if you're unlucky. They used to give such a feeling of adventure, and I really liked the GUI and inventory system 'cause I have a hang-up with ASCII graphics...
Just remembered that the boxes are still in our garage, right on top of my ancient Windows 3.1 PC (with a built-in turbo switch)

DO IT! I was playing it on windows 3.2 The problem I've had trying to get it to run in windows 7 is that it's a 64 bit system and castle of the winds was made to run in 32bit windows. So, dosbox won't work here unfortunately :(

It's such a strangely exciting game, especially when you drop five floors through a trapdoor and have no spells to get back. You have to kill that damn kobold, the scorpion is the one that would always fuck my shit up. The first was a lot easier to beat than the second. You make your way to the bottom of that mountain cave and then you go west to a town and go through a castle dungeon (which is a little similar to the second, but much smaller). The second castle of the winds had more than forty levels to the bottom, and once you defeat sutur you have to travel all the way back up to the top on foot.

ha ha haaaaaaa.....
The lighting combined with the carpeting and walls makes this pic look period-correct
Haven't even turned it on yet because I don't have a mouse or keyboard old enough to use.
I need an adapter or an ancient mouse because the port is that trapezoidal thing with a million pins, and the keyboard uses a 5-pin port like old Soviet guitars.
The PC is amazingly clean inside, I hope it still works.
