I was kind's hoping it was just here... I live in a very left city surrounded by that, butIt being the west coast they don't fly rebel flags but they do Trump flags [ironically in the more unpatriotic ways you can do..] in their place.. :picard: You know, this year is the first time I missed my mark in predicting things in 20 years.. I just would find what I thought was the lowest we could go and and I'd be pretty close.. but now.. every time I think the bottom is found.. They dig under it
 fully agreed - this seems to be a race to the bottom, and everybody's in the hole together. I admit it felt good to make a redneck crack in a basically safe place   Not a boss move, but it's what I got right now :erm:

and some real Afrofuturism, thanx Chanks

I'm from Kentucky originally. Lived there for 25 years. The whole state isn't like that. I'm not going to say any of it is perfect, but no where is. It's not easy in a lot of parts of Kentucky. Maybe with the reduction of the coal industry and what appears to be a heavy push to phase out tobacco, more industry will find a home in KY due to cheap land and cheap energy.

Roundabout way to say that I don't think a lot of Kentuckians make conscious decisions to be assholes; there's just a ton of poverty throughout the entire state and a lot of the school systems suffer because of it. Ignorance is no excuse but it isn't quite the same as being educated and choosing to be a dick despite knowing better.

I hope KY changes. I just had an interview with a guy who lived in a town I worked in... I was there around 2010, he was there around 1995, and it hadn't really changed at all. He said it was a "sad place", and he's right. It shouldn't have to be, though.

But if you think KY is bad, try Texas.... If someone could start a conspiracy theory that COVID was actually cooked up by the Fletcher's as part of their new batter for the Texas State Fair, the entire state would try to catch COVID because WOOOOOOO TEXAS!!!!!!

I have a new crackpot conspiracy theory to propose:

COVID-19 was cooked up by stock photo companies to drum up business.

Now they need to retake all the photos:

You heard it here first? :wha?: :idk: :hobbes:

Blackened Soul wrote:Not really.. It's nice to sound smart on the internet but playing semantics is silly. The current meaning of the term redneck has been the main use of the term for all out lives [maybe not Dubkitty but I'd say him to]. Moreover, a lot of the people that are non-pc pride themselves by using the label on them selves.. Maybe you are lucky to not live in an area that is not a battle ground for this where the use of gubernatorial race signs are used as Anti BLM AND anti wearing masks for corvid at the same time... and if so good for you.
I mean the "wildness" to the phrase is interesting (to me) because West Virginia came into being because they didn't want to secede from the US in the first place.

West Virginia is an interesting place. I've never lived there, but b/c work I've spent as much as a month at a time there, in places all over the state. Like any place that large, there's a fair amount of diversity from place to place. There's also a lot of emptiness geographically. But I've noticed both from both talking to people out there and stuff I've pulled out of curiosity, that the immigration history of the place, principally tied to the coal industry, mirrors the country as a whole in a way West Virginia is not usually imagined by folks not from there. But only up to a point. Which is a fairly shallow figment from me so there.

Immanuel, a pediatrician and a religious minister, has a history of making bizarre claims about medical topics and other issues. She has often claimed that gynecological problems like cysts and endometriosis are in fact caused by people having sex in their dreams with demons and witches.

She alleges alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, and that scientists are cooking up a vaccine to prevent people from being religious. And, despite appearing in Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress on Monday, she has said that the government is run in part not by humans but by “reptilians” and other aliens.

Guess I'm going back to work, which I'm happy about but I'm fucking scared. Kind of hoping they put another order in so schools stay closed longer until we at least have a vaccine. I think that's the minimum they could do for us. Otherwise sending us to maybe death. Fuck me though and all the teachers. We're lazy and entitled I guess.
