Totally agree with this, I have NEVER used Midi and can guarantee I NEVER will, zero interest. Presets would be very nice for this!

I like midi and cv. Are you sure you guys are doing it right? Try a Lightning Wave EVO for cv and you may like it again. It makes things amazing with the wave forming options. Personally, I don’t use midi right now but have in the past and it can certainly make things easier.

If you want me to modulate a parameter, let me modulate the parameter on the pedal with an LFO/rate, not with a second thing that takes up room on my board. This is my CV/MIDI philosophy, or lack thereof. Stupid, but it has worked out for me so far.

Hahaha! Personally I love expression pedals, but I have met some people that refuse to use them! I personally have the mission engineering expressionator so I can control three pedals via expression with one expression pedal and love it!

I never want to do those things.

I am but a simple man.

I don't use expression pedals much either. I have one, but I use it on two songs only for reverb size and ring mod freq rate on the BitQuest.

The EVO is like 1 inch by 2 inch or something ridiculously small like that. LOL. It doesn't take up room on your board. You set that fucker up on whatever pedal you want, dial it in like you like and then forget it. You can jack with it while playing, but I don't. I use it to achieve a very distinct effect with whatever I'm using it with. I can understand what you're saying but at the same time, it's cool to be able to do this even when a pedal doesn't have CV options (you have to be super careful obviously).

It seems weird but I think it’s true. I’ve noticed Jwar flips MIDI pedals, often complaining about them being too complicated, and then rebuys some of them and keeps them. Sounds are worth the effort for those is the conclusion, I suppose.

It takes a lot to get most folks over the hump to using MIDI on a pedalboard. You need a controller, extra cabling, lots of time to learn the ins and outs of programming, a LOT more time looking at manuals for PC and CC numbers, etc...

MIDI on pedalboards has only become common for regular folks in the last few years with the major increase in MIDI capable pedals and affordable controllers. Usually people have a handful of pedals that have MIDI control options already by the time they decide to spend the cash to build infrastructure to make MIDI work for them. I use it to control an amp switcher and a looper on my boards but have yet to really dig into controlling individual effects to make patches or broad manipulation schemes.

This is accurate for me of the past few years for sure. I have several pedals with midi that I do not utilize, but that's mostly due to lack of knowledge, however I am beginning to understand it more and I would use it now in a recording setting or live (if I ever get that far). It's definitely not a must for me but I get it and I do like it for certain applications.

The CV thing is great however and I think that the reason most people don't dig it is because they either don't understand how to use CV or they haven't used it with something fun like a non expression pedal CV controller. When I plug my EVO into something (depending on the pedal obviously) it can yield some extremely interesting results. For instance, I used it on my Metasonix TM2 recently I was able to get these crazy modulated almost crying like noises. It was crazy as fuck and I'd never heard the pedal do that prior to use the EVO on it. Lee is making a new version of the EVO as well that you can sweep it with an expression pedal, which would make it way more useful depending on the pedals. Some pedals, I'll throw a sequence into it using the BPM output and that can do some whacky stuff as well. Cause almost trem like effects with pedals that don't normally have that.

I have been using the Glitch Sample and Hold the most of my Revolver. Even though I've yet to even figure out how to use the 2 minute record time (I followed the manual instructions and still do not get it...sooooo). I love, love, love this pedal. God damn it I wish it was cheaper though. When I look at my board, it just pains me to know I paid almost 600 bucks for it. Sigh. How do I get over that mental hump? Dunno. Guilt of owning expensive gear is ultimately why I sold on my Toneczar stuff. Guilt!!! Oh well.
