excane: beautiful! I love both the Moduli and MTDs. As has been pointed out, it's not often you see that many high end 4 strings at once.
I think the natural maple burl 435 and the blue/green burst Quantum are my favourites of the bunch. They're all sweet though

behndy wrote:so, not being douchey at all.... what do you do with so many basses? it's a VERY impressive collection, and i'm not that good so i don't really every want more than the one i want...... maybe another one just like it that LOOKS different....... but just aesthetically. do they all get different setups or tunings or what not?
murrrrrrr?
Not a douchey question at all

Basically I'm only like this with MTD 435's. So I guess bass is my addiction and 435's are my drug of choice. I get weak in the knees when I see or play one. This started 12 years ago when I got my first one. I never played a better bass.... EVER.
All of them are different wood combinations, so different tonez from each one.... but I ain't gonna lie and say I can tell them apart cause if I was blinfolded I can't. They all have that specific MTD "sound" that they're known for.
Yes, they're also in different tunings. I have 4 basic tunings- standard, drop D, drop C, strung like a 5'er.
Every other bass (so far thank GOD) I've been able to get one or maybe 2 and say "I'm good".
MTD's have a special power over me
Not that it's a bad thing

Thanks

I dunno if that was a typo, but they're all 435 (not 434

)
I WAS looking at a 434 (super rare) that was on the bay a while ago, but my hands and fingers have just become used to the 35" scale.

Awesome by the way. I love high end 4-strings. I honestly get funny looks sometimes since I only play 4-bangers.
Nothing wrong with 5ers, 6ers, 12ers, whatev-ers, they just don't really do it for me.

Same here, I've tried SOOO many times to get used to it but I'm just a 4-banger at heart. I actually just sold off my Peavey Cirrus 5'er on the bay and SADLY sold my gorgeous 535 a few years back

That bass had the norm stockton blueburst finish.... don't worry I bought another 435 to make up for it

gotcha! thanks! yeah, i totalllly understand loving something and collecting (what may looks like to people not into them small difference) versions of it. did not know if it was that or if it was an application/use thing. meow!
lol. i'm also jealous of the SPACE you have dedicated to gear. we live in a two bedroom house, so i get some bookshelves and then about a 1/4 of the bedroom as my music area.

When we moved into our 2br place I looked at the second bedroom and told my wife "This is Studio Europa. You can have Io and the rest."

"you know what they say, you don't pay a whore for the sex, you pay her to LEAVE WHEN YOU'RE DONE."
naddddddd - yah, we had a similar conversation.... that somehow ended up with me getting a quarter of the bedroom and her getting..... everything else...........
sorta. i'm like a neutered single guy 5 months out of 6 since she's spending so much time in Japan right now. but it means i can't do anything with permanence 'cause i have to clean up my messes and tuck away all the loot that i set up in the living room.

Did I ever post my main bass? I don't remember, so I'm posting it again. I've had a heck of a time figuring it out, near as I can tell, it's a '96 RBX 250 or 260. Replaced the pickups with Dimarzios about 4-5 months after I got it, and it screams. Big chunky neck, just the way I like 'em.
