I'm not too big on the verellen aesthetic, I decided to skip the electric entirely, the guy was the 5th owner and for an amp that was made only 7 years ago, that's a lot of hands to pass through. I think I might just end up going with a science, I spoke to Alex about a possible Matamp/Orange-esque thing he was thinking of designing around a year ago but he is busy and focusing just on the MK II's of the amps after I messaged him like a couple days back.

Depending on how the new mother goes, I may get one in 100watts or even 50 watts, as I'm not playing to flap my pants anymore. I might have to get a new science cab too as only his shiv head will fit on my vertical 2x12. Maybe get a 1x15 for guitar to mix with my 2x12.

Also Dunwich no longer does amps, he messaged me regarding new orders, mostly he doesn't have the time and the profit margin is too small. I do love his pedals though, my HM-2 clone has beat out my skullyrat as my main dirt since I bought it.
Dunwich dirt pedals are great...i am missing my HM2 clone, but I have the DA120...and that's my main dirt now too.

Go with a Blackhawk. his waits are about 3 months. I have one on order. I have a Verellen. it's nice too.

And was going to say Nick doesn't do amps anymore. Ol' dude that got some of his first ones and built the headshells for many of them told me a while back.

Honestly I got so overwhelmed with the choices that I decided to just stay with my Sovtek Mig for now. I'll figure it out later. I like the odin120 but I don't like the aesthetics, and I like the new mother but it will probably be two channels style amp and that isn't something I'm too interested. Verellens seem nice but they don't speak to me, I'm still really into simple amps with a kinda classic aesthetics or something similar to science but in the end I really want an orange/matamp type sound without the crazy high plate voltages killing mah game.

My Sovtek has worked for me through and through. As far as heavy goes, I play more grind than doom so I guess I should be thankful for the clarity I have in my HM-2/Sovtek Combo. Although I might just get a science amp in the future anyway, or possibly an odin120 and change the headshell if that isn't offensive I guess.

Actually dunno, I'm more into pastel colors and tolex with plexiglass things. Maybe it's because woodgrain doesn't really fit my vibe, I'm like the antithesis of that earthy look I guess.

Different strokes, different folks :omg:

Haha!
Definitely.

I love bright 4:20 tolex colours, but I can't pull that shit off.
So I'm personally glad there's been a grain stain revolution.

Busy as fuck to the point I haven't even played on the 15 or so amps I've gotten since my collection debuted on rigs of doom instagram. But I'm finally on vacation, clearing/zeroing out all my orders and restructuring mauler so I have more time to do music like I love to do more so anyway. and restructure meaning just what I will and am not willing to do and how I structure my time in doing things. like for instance. i'm not going to do headshells or combo shells any further. I won't do pedal cases, or cases of anything in general.

Don't get an Odin get the Loki. it's far more gain on tap. cause I'm the king of playing grindcore and death metal. When I talked with Brooks I just said I want this to be a death metal use amp and I don't want to feel I need a boost or any pedal with it. cause I don't roll like that.

And not being overblown about saying king of playing grindcore and death metal.. i say that cause I've been on something like 78 grind and death metal releases be albums or splits or eps.

Oh shit, Ill take that into consideration although I like my pedlols and that sorta sludgy sound that matamp/orange-ish things give although I just want to have a versatile amp for when I'm playing other genres of music. I decided to jump on a new guitar train instead of doing an amp this year. Maybe next year if my custom guitar feels rad, I'll sell my EGC to cop a new amp.

On another note, I'd love to hear some of your grind/death stuff whatever yer most proud of because that is a fuck ton of releases yo

Nice to have some activity in the room again.

Nice to see you again SLK. Sounds like work and Mauler have you pretty fucking busy. Seems like I see your cabs popping up everywhere these days.

THE ACTION IS GO:

Also, PSA: Randall Blythe is fucking killing it in EHG.

I mean, like that band is always killer and even I could probably sing for them and it'd sound pretty good, but Randy is doing a fucking great job.
Go see em because I'm betting they won't bring that tour down here and I'm already sad in advance.

Plus, I'm considering abandoning my stereo amp/pedalboard plan and getting an SS140/50 to run as a dry dirt punch in, in parallel to my Pro Tube.
Problem is there are NO Ampeg guitar heads in Auslandia.
Are they still cheap stateside?

i like your optimism in that comment...seems like your suggesting everything but Ampeg is plentiful here!

gear is shit down here...even harder to sell stuff. I swear, i think every musician in australia is a bedroom player who ownes an expensive gibson LP or Fender strat/tele, a bunch of boss pedals and a roland cube!

anything outside the above is either super expensive or unavailable.

You know exactly what I mean, man.

Have you also noticed that when you are a member of an awesome fuzz forum that grants you fuzzbro access to the gear that they all pine for and you go to sell it on the open market they lowball the fuck out of you until you are forced into shit pricing?

You're spot on with that description, though.
