I have not gone to work today and will not go for the rest of the week! The reason: Journalists are on strike! Haha! Redirect to the happiness thread.

Mine will come by to say he's about to send an email and that he needs it done in 5 days. Then he'll drop by every other hour to ask if it's been completed anyway and gets annoyed when you point out he said 5 days a few hours ago.

So, apparently it's gonna be 1,000 degrees outside today. I hate the heat. Sweat through my shirt taking out the trash this morning.

  That's what I came in to complain about.

A billion mega-degrees in NYC makes everything smell like doodie. Plus I have to go to work...

there's nothing quite like the odor of a city that's been in place for several hundred years, heated to over 100°F. it's like the Return Of The Repressed...every kind of human, animal, and industrial funk that's occurred for ages at least has its memory evoked. i'm rather grateful that i've never been to one of the great cities of Europe or Asia in that kind of weather...i REALLY don't want to smell 2000 (or worse, 4000!) years of city funk.

Well over 100 on my last visit to ShenZhen China, and the driver left me outside for 2 hours, the only shade was next to this housing setup where it looked like they used the back yard area to collect and sort garbage????.

I picked direct sun over the garbage smell but the normal city smell wasn't much better. Sweat through all my clothes and killed 2 Pepsi Max when I finally found a small store a few blocks away.

Crazy hot today and our warehouse has no AC so I am trying to minimize my trips.
