Actually, I change my mind. I would prevent the birth of acid house (I count that as a great historical wrong) so I could get $20 tr-606's today.

That's understandable.
It's good music for when you're working on something though.

It took me quite a while to realize you were talking about Earth, the band. I thought you were just generally being optimistic.

I am trying to be more optimistic as of late...

I don't get why people "try".
It's like, there are three states you can be in:
Not-doing || Trying || Doing
Why try? If you want it, just do it.

I don't either; the not-doing state is so comfortable.

I like semicolons; they make you seem like a dick.

i think that most folks typically use "trying to" as roughly synonymous with "working on" because it gives one a distance/denial factor in case of failure. if you're "working on" something that fails, that's an all-out failure; if you're "trying to" do something, well, all you can do is try, eh? i don't think it's a conscious choice of idiom, but it is an excellent example of how subtle choices are coded into certain idioms and why it'd good to be aware of the semantics with which you define yourself.

I was "trying" to elaborate but I can't seem to turn thoughts into coherent sentences right now so I'll just say "fuck".

I lurve semicolons; they're a great way to avoid run-on sentences.

I don't "try"; I "attempt."

I'm starting to get tired of people talking about dub-step.

Good concept, horrible execution.
