Like I said, I am totally new to this arena and I don't play to rush into anything.

The LAL Sandstorm has slowly been sneaking into the periphery of my gas. Never knew what I'd do with it, but sometimes I find myself wanting to add excessive noise to my guitar, and it seems like a sweet, organic way to achieve it. Or, you know, a weed kushing machine.

Sandstorm...you can use it as sort of quick slow gear type thing (not as slow of an attack, but turn down the noise volume all the way and you get some envelope). I have also used it to cancel out and tame some frequencies on stuff like the Octavella. It also cuts through fuzzes (sometimes) and can make some stuff change/trigger their sound in different manners (like an envelop filter). It is another way to shape sound. The noise/hiss can really sound snare drummy sometimes and is a lot of fun. Yea, and just normal white noise!

I'm moving towards a set-up with my normal board on the floor, and my miniboard on a table in front of me, as the miniboard has some noise effects that work best when they can be tweaked by hand while I play. Sounds like the Sandstorm would be perfect for something like that. Something like my IN-3 -> Possessed -> Sandstorm -> AD-9. Maybe. I guess I'm starting to gas more for the crazy noise stuff since I've got all my "normal" sounds covered (except ring mod).

I've also considered the Rattle Crow on digimart, but kinda wish it was more tweakable. Seems like a fun alternative to standard filter and wah tones, though.

Never really meshed with loopers. They're definitely useful, though. Leaving the looping to UC, he's better at it.

I still go back to the OBNE Reflector demos with lust. This pedal is just so rad. I have a month in front of me to work on my game and then blackmail mum into buying it for me for the holiday I despise which is xmas. Ya know, that's what real adults do.

Also thinking about the possessed. Can't get it ouf of my mind. Tried my friend's last summer and last February. So enigmatic.

Rattle crow does have a sound, but, if you get down with it, it can have a lot of dynamic versitility. Like in triggering a fuzz with some env in it or something else that runs off dynamic. It does have sweet spots where it will act like an LFO filter and stuff like palm muting, volume changes can really change the way it reacts. The sens really helps and I find much more versitile than something like the DOD 440 or something. It is very reactive but it doesn't like hot signals. I find it best in early in the chain.Trem before it is fun too. I wish I could capture the more weird stuff it does when playing riffs (acting more like a modulated res filter). But, yea, either you like the sound or don't though haha. Oh! It also helps cut through heavily "effected" signals like before the trogotronic or something.

Yea, loopers are outside my realm (like, why would I want to loop my same lame riff? Sounds like something for people that can play the guitar haha)

Possessed is fun for riffing. Just works well with some Rudimentry Peni simple riffs haha.

I've never used a bit quest, but I doubt it is an SPK or Moog MF102...

(ring mods ain't equal at all even though there really shouldn't be this much variance)

I had a bitquest, but I'm weird about multieffects and stuff. I want clear cut effects with a single, tweakable purpose. Making sense is not my game.
