Awesome!
I'm still pissed I was down and out for that Elder/Earthless show.

At first I wasn't digging the tone from that Ampeg by itself but when you combined it with the Krank it sounded great. Looking forward to your recordings when they are finished.

Also, just got my order in for the Crown of Horns. Can't wait for it to come in.

I keep hearing good things about some of the Krank amps. I'll have to listen to this video when I'm not mobile.

Thank ya both. and I took a chance on that SST. it was only 160 total so fuck it I don't mind flushing that. Turned out better than expected. it's one of those tube preamp and SS power amp.

I got my first track down yesterday with the main structure. quad tracked guitars, bass, and drums. so far the single song is 20mins long.

I've been playing my "rat" voiced pedal through that Laney I recently picked up, which is very very Marshall/plexi (even jmp/800) territory. But better of course, if you ask me. Anyways, the rat sounds great but like all rats, it sounds like a rat no matter what. Not a bad thing, but I'm trying to scope out something new. Been looking at the Black Forest because I've always liked the colorsound type of circuit. Plus I wanna keep this kinda British sounding. I think at this point I've had every low to medium gain fuzz and drive available, but I've never had or tried a BAT Black Forest. Anyone use one with a Marshall-esque type of amp? :) also open to suggestions, I've been out of the pedal game for a few months or so :hello:

Phil, the other guitarist in Khemmis, uses a BF into a Carvin X100b. I really dig the way it sounds.

Chiller, I use mine with a 6 knob AOR. It's meaty as fuck, I think you'll definitely love it.

Although, I may have some bias.

Seriously though you won't be disappointed. It gels well with that Laney sound and will definitely get you where you need to go and then some.
People rave about the Pharoah, but the hero of the BAT line up to me is the BF.
Not to be overlooked, either, is the Revelation Superbass.
You stack those two together and you'll make anuses bleed their owners dry.
Fuck.
Now I want another Revelation....

Edit: actually if you want to hang onto your RAT stacking it with the Rev will definitely help you change the sound a bit.
I don't usually like RATs but I had an Enormous Door variant I stacked with a Rev and it was pretty impressive.

So my advice is get both.

i used to run a Black Forest into my 2204 and it absolutely slayed. You can get some Rat-ish tones out of it as well so you'll have some familiar tones if you go that route. the Black Forest is versatile as fuck. Someone else mentioned the Revelation Superbass as well. The guitar track on this is one side with the Black Forest boosting and the other with the Revelation Superbass. Sounds huge. You gotta forgive my crude recording skills though.

Thanks guys! I used to have a revelation superbass. I never enjoyed it as much, so I sold it off. I also used to have a pharaoh and loved it but ended up trading it because I had tons of muffs at the time. Should of kept it. Anyways, really wanna try the Black Forest. I think I'm gonna put my sonic violence up for trade for one. Or just pick one up regardless.

The Sonic Violence is RAT based right?

Yeah, with a four position depth knob. Sounds great, but I already have a rat tail if I want a "rat" pedal. That's why I'm considering something new.

I almost got rid of my Black Forest until I started using it for slide. I just seem to like the EQD Monarch better for that gritty overdrive-nearly-fuzz sound on regular bass and guitar. LOVE IT for slide guitar - great sax like gritty OD textures, plenty of gain. It's become my favorite pedal by far for cigar box guitar use. Guess I need to try it again with the amp crazy loud, that's where the Pharaoh really shines for me, and I think the reason I love the BF for slide is I'm diming the 15 watt tube or 10 - 15 watt solid state amps I've been using.

Just did a demo of a little amp I made with the BF yesterday. Not doom; D tuned fugly blues jank.
