I spent a few hours with the FLXS1 yesterday and I really love it. My favorite euro sequencer I’ve tried so far. Firmware is still a little green, but solid, will be amazing when all the features are finished.
I traded off my Batumi and some cash for a Z-dsp with Halls of Valhalla card. I think I really wanted an Erbe Verb but I’m gonna settle for this for the time being. I do love everything by Sean Costello that I’ve tried so I hope this is no exception. Might get the Shimmer and Chorus cards at some point?

Also have more euro heavy ideas! Oh no

It's not a bad setup but it's a bit lacking in modulation sources (i.e voltage sources). Modules like BIA and Phonogene shine with modulations (and others too).
Having external sources is nice but you won't do the same thing as with things in the modular (which can often be modulated too, etc.).

Yeah that's definitely a weakness that needs correcting. Still a work in progress, especially after jamming a bit today I'm realising I need a loooot more cv sources than I have now or put in that setup.
Had fun with some drum samples into the phonogene earlier. Sequencer is cycling through genes, end of cycle is triggering a random voltage to the filter cutoff and also later in the clip I patch it to a sample and hold which is changing splice. Boring melody continues throughout with envelope from the drum machine out of sewastopol controlling VCA.
Found myself wanting more voltage sources though!

Experimented with disting pitch tracking but didn't get great results. Need to experiment more because it could be super fun.

Also got any suggestions for fun stuff that might fit in there somehow?
Also considering moving up to 6u which would have pleeeenty of room for fun stuff but trying my best to keep it small and contained first.

sounds gooooood.
i mean, i love Pam's, she does so much. do you want random stuff like Woggle/Sapel or sequenced and controlled like Voltage Block or Rene or multi utility goodness like Maths or crazy verbose like Flux or Eloquencer?
i love Batumi too. it's predictable functionality but i get kinda random results that i always dig.
and the Quadra Expander gets here tomorrow. WOOT. looking forward to having a 4 envelope generator with end of cycle and all the bits i used Maths for.

To try to pack a lot in a small space, the WMD/ssf modbox is two clockable lfos and a sample and hold (white noise internal or an external signal). Both LFOs are 1v/Oct as well.
I think I've been bitten by the Mannequins bug. I started looking into Just Friends and it seems like an amazing modulation source. I've found that I really like using Maths to create interelated modulation sources using the mixer, and just friends seems to take that concept to another level.

Just Friends looks niiice. In general I want the capability to have a normal lfo sometimes but would much rather use different sources or lfos modulated by something for slightly less predictable sounds. Pams is amazing but I worry it's a more reliant on menus and not that immediate for performance. Would like to experiment with one!
Thanks for the suggestions! All of these at the very least sort of on my radar, need to do some in depth research clearly!

If you take the 6U I suggested to you and ALSO grab a just friends you might as well copy my own 6U straight up
I'll just order 2 of everything from now on.
Yes good plan

yesssssssssssss new interface/mixer in.
works good so far. doesna seem to clip, i now have 8 mono inputs for modular, then 2 stereo inputs for STUFF. one is going to be the Stereo Field, the other is waiting for a DIgitakt to get here.
...... lol. works as a MIXER so far. it shows up in my system settings, looks like it's getting audio, but nothing from the computer is playing back out to the speakers. 'm sure it's user error. off to a movie with The GrrL now, figure out what i'm doing wrong when i get home.

lol. annnnnd fuck ME. so, ONE thing wasn't clipping. but now stuff that didn't before like BIA and Rings, are. HARD. even with the db reduction pad engaged.
i'm confused. i know modular is a hot signal, but this is ridiculous. people have said they've had success with this mixer. whaaaat am i doing wronnnnnng?
i. i just want to make NOISES.
