My first thought was that it looks like a Mood but more controllable.
Then I realized the looper doesn't seem to do anything weird and it looks like pretty straightforward reverb.
I guess the interesting thing is the 11 granular effects and I'll be curious how they sound.
I got super pumped for this, but then in the clip, I was a little underwhelmed as I don't really hear anything that's to far outside of what other pedals are already doing. I guess it's cool that you get so many different types of effect in this one box, and if you didn't already have a bunch of weird glitchy pedals this could certainly scratch an itch. I just thought they might have pushed the envelope a bit further with this one. I guess I should just wait to hear a longer demo before passing judgement.
This is pretty much spot on with my thinking. I want to be excited for it, but I can't help think that I already have a lot of effects that cover similar territory.

Although, I also thought that I should pre-order one just so I can flip it for double the price. "Never used, just opened to take pictures, etc."

The appeal of the Microcosm to me, aside from it not having side jacks, is that is seems more suited to dynamic in-the-moment use which their previous pedals have not been great at. Thinking this might be a nice companion to stuff like the ReVolver in a lot of ways with being able to hit it on the fly rather than play something and record knob movements or whatever like their other pedals are meant to do.

I look forward to learning more about how it operates and if they figured out how to properly handle a dry signal this time instead of add gain or cutting bass.

Apparently this flew under my radar when they showed it at NAMM: VHT (Chinese imports, name sold by Fryette) is selling an $850 50 watt Dumble ODS clone, hand soldered on turret boards: https://www.musicradar.com/news/dumble- ... ng-special
Has an effects loop and a clean channel with some headroom. Might generate interest as a pedal platform.

Also, TC has revealed on their running tease, the Plethora X5 toneprint multi: https://www.musicradar.com/news/tc-elec ... rds-in-one
For $400 you get five effects at a time with MASH expressive switches ala Flashback 2 and HOF2, with IR outputs. Bluetooth editing/loading of tone prints.

Haven’t dug in but the Plethora seems to be on a basic pedalboard gestalt. No indication of complex routing possibilities that I’ve seen. Can’t say it doesn’t present good value compared to building its capabilities with separate pedals. Not thrilling me, though.

That almost seems like the logical conclusion to where TC has been going tbh. If they release a smaller version I might be tempted, just to cover a standard gamut of boring effects to have room for more interesting stuff. :snax:

I know I keep posting guitars in this thread, but I can't not post the Devo Fender Custom Shop Reverse Jazzmaster:

You can at least put the effects loop wherever you want it in the chain. I do like that you can just hold 2 footswitches to exchange the location of effects in the signal. But I don't think you can make separate paths or anything.

they had series/parallel routing on the Flashback Triple - 't'would be a shame not to just import that into this jawn....

It's hard to ignore the paint job and neck inlays but the body shape is a lot of fun and what's going on with that bridge and tremolo? Do they put that in other guitars? And it comes with Novak pickups? And buttons in the knobs, rather than push/pull?
Looks amazing if you don't look at it.

The bridge is the one they've been using on cuatom shop offset guitars for several years now, and the "vibra-dyne" tailpiece/vibrato was designed by Ron Thorn and started to turn up on custom shop pieces last year. You see a lot of them on his California Special guitars:

A co-worker of mine was freaking out about this. I hadn't heard a word about this but I guess they are going after the Helix?
