It's interesting, I jonzed pretty hard for this device.. basically just off description of the circuit. Then someone was kind enough to sell me theirs, and I bonded with it almost instantly. Now I see them for sale and I'm almost saddened that the seller didn't share my experience.. but I'm stoked to think another dude like me now has a chance to bond with the device!!
I've enjoyed it. Still haven't fucked with the trimmers yet. May boost the output a hair..
Who's got #1? Mines 16

This echoes my thoughts almost exactly.

Gettin' lucky on a flip never felt so bittersweet. That feeling of whiffing bigtime on a Real ThingTM was way too recent and raw to block out in all the celebratory poppin' 'n' lockin'. Can't promise that this one will be leaving my side any time soon, but I do recognize the primacy of ILF dibs.

Okayso, HEQ1 has landed and much time has disappeared. The thing is, I also got a Champion Leccy Divvy at the same time. I've played it about a tenth of the time I've played the HEQ1 so far. I really like it! I wrote a few hundred words about it in the Perc thread.
I feel like I should write something about the HEQ1. But all I can get out is "sputter, sputter, holy fuqq! sputter !!"

Just for the sake of saying.. I found the device incredibly receptive to my guitars volume knob. I think there's about 1000 things to find with each turn of the volume knob.

I hope this helps.
To anyone starting with this pedal, I would...
1. Dial back 'Edges' and 'Expanse' -> Start ALL THE WAY Counter Clockwise
2. Keep all EQ knobs at 12 o'clock
Then take it from there. That setting alone should not give you any 'sputtering'

Haha--no, no, ILFbrethren--it's me who is sputtering--at the magnificence of this pedal! The "multiply" switch should say "multitudes", as in "I contain...." I'm particularly impressed with all the reigned-in and bubbling-under sounds....
idk, there's just *so much* and for so much of it to sound *so new* to my jaded ear after *so many* fuzzes...it's wild and it's shutting down my critical faculties. I guess there are some downsides to getting a swash and a HEQ1 in the space of a few weeks if your self-image isn't up to being seen by too many folks as you hunch over a pedal board drooling and cackling and muttering incoherently....
Also-I totally agree with your suggestions!

Oh whoops. I understand now. Sorry about that.
Yes, I know that feeling...I believe it's called a 'paradigm shift' Glad you're enjoying your new pedals!!!
