Love that garnet amp! I'm thinking about picking up a Sunn solid state if I can find one on the cheaps. Here is the amp I just got. My ears are ringing from playing it all day.

Once again, sorry for the shitty photos...this is a Vase Trendsetter 120, with 2 2x12 stacks (and room for a 3rd in each). This is the loudest amp I have ever played - volume and master at 5 just makes me want to shit! but the tone is everything Ive ever wanted - I have 3 Vase amps, and this is the only one with a master volume, so its not only perfect for deafening people at a gig, it records beautifully too. Ive had AC30's (newer and vintage), a marshall, Fenders etc, but this is the one for me. Vase amps were made in Brisbane between 65-73ish, and used to be plentiful and cheap around here, but recently people realise how good they sound, so the prices are going silly. The Trendsetter 40 I have made my old vintage Top Boost AC30 sound like a toy, seriously (and I love those jangly tones from the AC30). This big boy has Vase branded speakers, Alnico, probably rebadged Rola's or Plessey's (old Aussie speakers). Ive always loved vintage gear, but this was like the holy grail for me - it even came with the original vinyl amp and stack covers - in near mint condish. Vase amps have recently re-opened, making hand wired amps again, but I havent heard how they sound - if they are anything like the originals they will be fantastic...but $4000au for a 60w amp is a little much, when I got this for $900! Alot of people are wising up to how good the 60's Aussie amps sound - Goldentones, vadis, Wasp etc, so now its not only the collectors who want them.

I've been thinking about selling it for ages now, but every time I plug my MM 65 head in, i remember how good it sounds, even though it's been abused for about 30 years now... I usually use my reasonably new Fender 1x15" cab with the Music Man head nowadays, though, but just because I don't have to worry about it falling apart or anything.
