Re: Supa Chan DEMO
Sorry, say whatever you want to me, idc. I knew Eric was full of shit for a while and couldn't say anything, because ILF builders are just excused from doing anything incorrectly here, sadly, and yes it has happened with present builders we know and love. Now that he really isn't part of ILF is when people can say this shit. I would open up a claim/ report him or something. Sorry but your money has been stolen, it hasn't nor will go to supa chan, anytime soon at least. This is absolutely unfair and he has been holding on to bookoo bucks of yours. It's about time you get it back by any means neccesary.

Do you mean ILF builders or Shark Tank builders?

It's really sad, I went on a mellowtone binge not too long ago, but now I just sort of want to unload the stuff I do have, despite how much I enjoyed my cc/dc at one point, it's weird and a shame.

Have you guys tried contacting Tom? I know he has worked with him on projects and I'm 100% sure he's got his number.
That and find someone who lives around him and stop by... IDK

Re: Supa Chan DEMO
Guys, I'm really upset about this situation. I feel awful that this went down on ILF, and that people haven't gotten their pedals.
How many haven't gotten theirs? 2-3? Maybe more who aren't posting?
I haven't heard from Eric since January 6th. I most recently emailed a month ago and haven't heard back. I've checked with the only person I know who's been in contact with him this year, and they haven't heard from him in 5+ months either.
wsas3--I totally understand your position. Shit's gotten real, and there's nothing wrong with giving your unfiltered opinion.
But your post covered several points about this issue, and works nicely as a framework to what I want to say.
(Not just a reply to wsas3, but to this whole issue).
Feel free to share how you knew this.
I worked with Eric from 2008 to 2011. He never once screwed me over, or came across as full of shit. He was kind, patient, thorough with support, never wanted to overcharge (to the point that I worried he'd underprice himself out of business) and was always concerned with things being fair. Orders sometimes took a while, but I only funded parts up-front. My only complaint is, he built part-time, and I wanted to buy more pedals from him than I could get. He was one of the easiest, most conscientious people I've worked with.
Obviously, things are different with this situation.
What happened with the Supa Chan is shitty.
I don't want to out Eric's personal life, but I'm sure he didn't set out to rip anyone off. In 2011, he went through a shitstorm, things that weren't his fault. I HAD been crediting this whole issue to that, to running out of money, to deciding to give up on pedals...but expected him to come through. I thought he'd vanished from the internet entirely, maybe couldn't afford internet access... I didn't know he'd been posting these YouTube vids of his band. That shows that he's just ignoring the people who've ordered one. :/
I'm bummed.
And I'm sorry that this happened on ILF.
Yes. Everyone who paid through PayPal and hasn't gotten their pedal should open up a claim through PayPal.
I doubt that. I'm sure the money's long gone, which I'm assuming is part of the problem--he can't afford to buy parts to finish the pedals, can't afford to refund.

Builders with hosted subforums here should not be excused from doing anything shitty. Period. If anyone wants to draw anything to my attention, please do...but I'm also not willing to lead a witch hunt: most of the hosted builders here got their subforums here because of their excellent reputations (at least since I've been involved). It's impossible to please every single customer, but if someone's ripping people off, they will (rightly) be exposed, and will lose their subforum.
(Want to know how many people have emailed me complaining about ILF hosted builders screwing them over? Zero. Not to say there aren't a few unhappy customers out there, but I'm not sure you can claim that ILF builders are excused from being called out for shit, when I've never gotten ONE report about any of them.) At the same time, I don't want people blindly defending ILF builders no matter what they do.
(This doesn't include the Shark Tank, which is clearly labeled as unofficial, where builders pay to post spam.)

I've never had a phone number for him. I don't have the time and don't do phone calls.
He's from Richland, WA...I had an address, but I think he moved or went to college.

I'm so glad you chimed in Tom, and well worded as always. I wasn't around long before Letsgocoyote left but I have always loved his work, his pedals really are incredible and I hate that he isn't building anymore. I hope everything gets worked out, because I would hate for people to get a bad view on any of our other builders who could get generalized due to this one unfortunate situation.
