Question: does it feel weird to you when you're playing with people who have not nearly as nice of gear? Like the other guitar player in the band has a nice tele through a practice amp, no pedals. i bring a super minimal pedalboard, but it still feels weird. Even though the price of his guitar and how cheap mine are might make it all even... idk maybe I'm making a deal out of something that isn't.
And it's weird that we have to play kind of quiet because of his tiny amp.

Yes it does feels weird, and it gets sad when they are more creative than you with none or just a couple of pedals

Yeah haha. Homie writes all the songs and is a much better guitar player than me by pretty well every standard. I've just spent more money and know how to make boises with it that he likes but doesn't understand

Random thought to add to my last one. My coworker said something today that got me real stoked. "I'm working today to make steps towards being the rad 80 year old that I want to be." While that is a lame cliche sentence, it took away my concern over having nice gear. I want to be a sweet old dude with all kinds of cool gear and knows how to use it well. I'm on my way to being that person. Screw being uncomfortable.

i sometimes feel weird about having more expensive///more interesting gear than my bandmates and have realised that i dont need a lot of it. stripping down my board, but keeping elements i love, has been really rewarding

I built all of my pedals in vero initially and then made the jump to stripboards, and I really didn't have bunch of parts, I just sourced the parts and buy them in one single order from either Mammoth or Small Bear.

I fixed the LED. It's got that stoner rock honky smooth fuzz sound with the guitar up full but it's not responding well to volume knob adjustments on the guitar anyway, it's a LOT cheaper than a real one and I learned something building it.

Now, what to build next...

Could Gibson be less in tune with actual human beings? Maybe their robot tuners could help...attune them...to the needs of robots. Maybe their sales would improve.
