The patina on the copper was done with liver of sulfur, which you can buy at Michael's for under $10. It's in the same section where you would get supplies to make silver wire jewelry. A tiny little bottle will do many, many boards. It is sooo much faster and easier than etching and enameling the actual enclosure. The patina process only takes about five minutes.

The LEDs were a last minute idea. There was a lot of empty space in that box... heh! I was worried I would get some popping when turning on 3 LEDs at once, but it is as quiet as can be. I think it is because I finally stopped sharing LED ground with audio ground from the board, and instead connected it straight to the DC jack.

Anyway, the project files are up, so I hope somebody builds one!

Very very cool.. Love it. And thanks so much for sharing your project files. Its been fun getting my wife involved on some of mu builds since she lives at Michaels and Joanns and she gives me all kinds of ideas.

Thanks John. Your build is, as always, superb. You should consider experimenting with some of the liver of sulfur. This is what I used, from Michael's. It says it will patina silver, brass, aluminum, and bronze. Two q-tips worth and about 5 minutes is all it takes.

Thanks! I think it is one of my best. If you decide to do it with the black, you probably don't want to patina the copper, or it will be hard to see. I bet black board with liquid tin would look great, though.

I have also thought about mounting the board under surface of the enclosure, and filling in the top with clear epoxy. I have all the supplies to try it, I just have to figure out what I want to build next.

Oh, and if anyone wants to build one of these, I have one set of toner transfers ready to go (pcb & enclosure), and one extra pcb transfer ready to go. If anyone wants them, just PM me an address.

I'd like to see gut shots on that Percolator. Did you go with the "stock" or Albini specs? Definitely one of my all time favorite circuits. Of course the Wisconsin connection always makes me smile!
