GAT DAMN tommasters!
Congrats! I've been keeping an eye out for this one since those build pics were posted. That green is badass, remarkably similar to one of mine but paired with that binding/dark neck/sides/back is perfect.
What's going on with the controls (or lack thereof), on my phone and I can't make it out? Are those just roller knobs or 3-way switches? Do tell...
Semi-hollow like that would rule set up like the "Pawnshop" Mustang Special. 3-way toggle to switch pickups plus separate 3-way sliders for each pickup letting you go from humbucker --> single (in phase) --> single (out of phase). Fuck, it could do most anything. Dibs if you ever let that one go!

Nice work Tommasters I like shap and the ontrasting green top with the binding...even the sound hole looks unique. What species of wood did you use. Do I see walnut?

It's an all rosewood neck, with sapele body. Yep two separate jacks each doing a different pickup. I never had any need for a tone knob on guitar so there are two roller pots on the pickguard and each one controls a pickups volume. The way I play guitars means that I'm always hitting the volume knob by accident. This way it's out of the way but still right there if I need to change it. I wanted it to be like those hollowbody jazz pickups that have their controls on the pickguard

I haven't done a demo yet but here is something I recorded right after I got it back together just so I wouldn't forget it.
It doesn't really show off the versatility of the VI but you get an idea.

That's what Fender should've done with the blacktop bari.

You can get the 490Rs on ebay for around $50 BIN or maybe even less in an auction.
The 490Ts are just as cheap, a little brighter and would work well in the neck too.
Just make sure the pole pieces are spaced right for Fender.
Knobs=Good toanz (and volume too).
I have a lot of spare parts that will come in handy so let me know when you are ready to get down.

That's what I was hoping for......when you want something done right, I guess you just have to do it yourself.

new band, this is my setup.
It's an axiom bolt on ric copy. Really good copy, like double truss rods, stereo output, the whole magilla. Weighs more than twice a ric bass because to accomodate the neck bolts it's twice as thick. Has a huge bottom end thump to it and man it's killing my back. Also it's microphonic as all hell and the neck's a bit bowed, but yeah...I love it. Serious caveman, wear low, hit with club bass.
Why you no want to keep the Beta?
oh I'm keeping it. Just not using it for this band cuz I have two bass heads that need fixing up and using. Beta lead gets used a tonne in other bands.

Does yours have a touch of dirt in the background even on clean settings?
