dozicusmaximus wrote:Any fans of the 4ms SMR or MI Rings here? Any cool videos of Rings not doing percussion? Maybe processing audio? Still working my way through the Muffs thread. Looking for ambient examples. But not the same examples I'm hearing over and over. Is that all it can do? :P

Looking for something that can do a washed out layer of chords. These both seem capable. I should probably just learn how to patch my Just Friends. Haha. The SMR seems like a good compliment to the Just Friends.
this isn't necessarily a wash of chords, but was playing around with the Troika into the Rings In. the first minute is just Rings, in the single note mode, then from a minute on it goes to 4 note mode with Evens Output going to Warps and the Troika melody (the lower buzzy thing).

lollolololollol. SUPPLY CHAIN BEBE. I GOTS IT.

sooooo.... i'm getting pretty dissolutioned with the K-Mix. it annoys the BUTTS off of me that the main thing i wanted it for, it's not designed to do. and it's my fault for not realizing or doing the research properly first, but it seems so damn silly that you can only record in constant levels. only way i can figure out how to record fader movements and have them reflected in the audio file is to sum them through the outs. which completely defeats the purpose of having 8 separate inputs.

and this might be me being an idiot, but can't figure out how to pad the signal enough to make it not distort with moduler ins. only input options i see are the trim and turn off the preamp boost, and with trim all the way down i still get wayyyyy too hot a signal. mebbe i'm missing something in software.

but i'm grabbing a pair of Pragas soon to do what i want, and it seems silly to drop a g to cover what i bought the K-Mix for.

that said, i do like the tiny footprint of it. i don't have a lot of desk space right now.
