Picked up a DFX9 again after searching for a longer delay for stuff the DMM can't do and realizing the futility of searching through a million delay pedals when I could just go with what I already knew. Blue box is a Dirge speaker cranker style preamp, next to it is a true bypass loop used as an on/off for the whole board.NSFW: show

Holy shit, these are both beautiful looking boards.O Drones wrote:65 RI JM-Pedolz-OR50

It's a little bit of an oversimplification but the GB24 (depending on which version you have) is either a very low-fi or a noticeably lo-fi version of Mode One on the Ct5hbombgraphics wrote:this is sick,
do you use the GB24 and ct5 together much?
THey overlap a bit right?

Cool! What did you determine? I was just asking resincum about this very thing. (Soon to battle 'em myself!)hbombgraphics wrote: had a dirty verb shootout between the RM and the BQ last night

What's the details on the finish?

This is rad! all the dirt. How does this work for TCW? I always figured you had more delay and reverb stuff going on.O Drones wrote:65 RI JM-Pedolz-OR50
Thanks!jrfox92 wrote: Holy shit, these are both beautiful looking boards.
National Geographic photo of some religious statues in Europe - I can't remember the date/issue anymore. I got tired of the plain white finish - I might do the same to the ct5 sometime.blakestree wrote:What's the details on the finish?weed_killer wrote: gb 24
I can agree with that, but at the same time I find a lot of difference. Mine is a v2 so not the very lo-fi like Rustwire has. It's like a Vox Continental vs a Nord keyboard - the ct5 can do way more, but if I want 'that' sound I go for the gb24. I don't have the latest firmware update on the ct5 cause I can't get it to work, so mine doesn't have the quantization ease that the more recent ones seem to have. I find the ct5 a little more unpredictable at times - you have to play around with it more, whereas the gb24 is easy to dial in.D.o.S. wrote:It's a little bit of an oversimplification but the GB24 (depending on which version you have) is either a very low-fi or a noticeably lo-fi version of Mode One on the Ct5hbombgraphics wrote:this is sick,

I will probably end up setting the RM up dirty most of the time and keeping the BQ cleaner but that's mostly because I like messing with the other BQ sounds clean as well
