Will the Tensor do simple Raptio type stutters?

The Tensor is latching and holds onto the loops like a ReVolver while a Raptio is purely momentary. Its a subtle difference but with the Tensor you have to turn off the loop when you're done rather than just pulling your foot off the switch.

Tensor can do latching or momentary, though I haven't really found it super useful for doing a good stutter, because even in momentary it does still capture and hold in record mode, with some fast tapping I suppose it probably could be done but would require too much footwork in recording and erasing to do a stutter like a rapito or something similar.

The Tensor's latching or momentary mode on the record button doesn't make the pedal latching or momentary. It just changes whether you have to keep your foot on the switch while recording or if you tap in and tap out. The bypass switch can be latching or momentary in the traditional sense but it isn't the switch that engages a loop.

the particle v2 does the raptio thing and way more, although not momentary. but you can just press on and off quickly

sounds much better than v1 as well imo. no compression or volume loss. I'm pretty in love with it right now actually. hopped on it when I learned they ditched the spin chip..that fv1 sheen drives me nuts. (I think dr scientist is the only one who's figured out how to filter out that sound.) I'll try and record some clips this weekend to fill the v2 demo gap

!
btw does anyone know what kind of code they use in the new red pandas or tomkat pedal? wonderin how tf he got clouds in there

I haven't looked inside my current gen Red Panda pedals but its likely a more powerful microcontroller. The FV1 is a programmable processing chip that is somewhat friendly to entry-level programmers. Companies with more resources or coding experience will almost always go for a more powerful microcontroller to get what they want without limitations. Tomkat probably just built the Clouds platform into a pedal box using the same microcontroller as Mutable which is this one:

Particle v2 stereo

Is anyone running mono in / stereo out on their Particle v2? Does it do anything to stereo-ize the mono input? Should I track down a short TRS to dual TS cable?

I have been wondering the same thing!

Used the DX last night for the first time in a full song situation and it worked great!
Not quite sure how or why I'd ever use the 2 minutes tho on this. Seems you were right about that Whoismarykelly.
It seems like some of the way the pedal works has changed as well or that I'm crazy? I seem to recall you being able to get some kind of effect sound with grabbing a sample. Like I could get a cool weird ass chorusy sound on one setting. Can't seem to do that here for some reason? That was something I really dug too. Maybe I just forgot how to use this thing.
Either way, the Glitch mode alone makes this pedal a winner IMO.

So, I dug up a TRS - dual TS insert cable for the output, and not only does it not stereoize, if fed with a mono TS it only processes the one channel, leaving everything on one side. If I slightly pull out the TS input so that it's making contact with the input jack's ring, everything switches sides.
Bottom line for me is, unless I need to change the position of the Particle to be after a stereo pedal, I'm sticking to mono I/O.

Just don't play stereo. God you guys and your stereo set ups. Pfftt. Use one amp you whores!
For real though, like I don't get it. hahah

You don't get wanting to play in stereo?
I was initially confused as cbm by the fact that the particle v2 outputs to stereo, especially if it receives mono input, I have found no info on how that's supposed to work. I too was going to pick up some TRS cables and try it out but now I guess I won't as there seems to be no info as to how else using that pedal in stereo would work. Pretty much all my other pedals are mono at this point anyway so if I ever run a stereo setup, it'll be with two separate mono boards which I guess really isn't "true" stereo anyway?
