I was evangelized at on the merits of Death Grips by a 14 year old the other day. No joke. I was all "yo what kinda music you like dude" and he was all "death grips" and I was all "exmilitary is the best one" and he was all "no" and I was all "you're going to say money store aren't you" and he was all "...yes. And while you may think I'm wrong, I'm actually right. Let me tell you about it."

what was his reasoning?
Last night was a bad show to forget my ear plugs. & the show was actually just want I had anticipated: a performance focused more on energy than keeping everything as tight as possible. But I enjoyed it way more than I anticipated. Kinda bummed some of the songs were slower than the album versions (I hate when artiats do that), but I was engaged the whole show. Pretty varied setlist, too. Very happy I got to see them.

I want to say it was something about a more fully realized vision, but I have a pretty vicious headache so it's hard ot remember anything right now.

Their Minneapolis show drew one of the best crowds I've seen in some time. I was completely soaked in my own sweat afterwards.

Yeah definitely the sweatiest show ive been to, as well. Dudes were ringing their shirts out afterwards, impressively disgusting.

Really had to take a break and avoid the GAS but I'm back, ready to buy some more pedals again
After trying other forums to scratch my itch (really stupid idea), this place is the only place I can accept. Everywhere else is full of idiots, long live ILF and may I never stray too far from it ever again.

Having tried several times to get into Death Grips records to no avail I am wondering, should I just go see them in October?

Well, they are an incredibly intense live act, but if you really, really don't like the records, you're not gonna like the show.

Really? It was the opposite for me, they made the slower songs faster.

Yeah Hacker and Ive Seen Footage were definitely a bit alower than the recorded versions.
Also watching a room of mostly young, white dudes dance with themselves to "I Want It I Need It" is pretty hilarious.

Yeah thats how they've always done it. Its not on every track, but on the majority. Its a little bit lame, but didn't ruin the vibe for me at the show.
