hmmmmm euh... I'm not going to do this... GO GET THEM! :)
Especially the AB-Synth... there's a 16% sales at FuzzHugger at the moment (there's no reason not to buy one). :snax:

I have a Devi Ever Hyperion in-coming, but here's an issue: I just played a Fulltone OCD and loved it, but I'm also still gas'ing for a Boss FZ-2.

I might have a job soon but I won't know for at least another couple of days.

I found mine to be quite boring after a while. No regrets after selling it either. It tracks...okay.

Soooo,

Roost 50W tube amp head

or

Polytope and Clarinot

Roughly the same amount, the amp head is a good deal I think and I am pretty sure I could sell it for more than what the dude is asking. But Poly and Clari are two effects I've been lusting for for some time. Amp is my second Roost, I already have a 100W combo that I love, so a backup for the second practice room would be great. Both effects can be had from Prymaxe so they won't run away and it seems there is always a new coupon coming up, the amp is vintage and a used sale. You don't see these too often.

Since this is not a strict talking me OUT of gas I have some hope that it might work.

Oh, and the default option BOTH won't work, because I don't have the money.

for me:

-i'm not at a financial point to afford a new amp or a custom bass nor do i really need them

-an ocean themed board is a cool idea, but unnecessary and some pedals i like aren't oce-ok thats actually a lie, most ocean themed pedals are my fav of the style

I'd probably go with the amp in that case. Different amps can crazily change how your current stuff sounds, and as you say, Prymaxe has a sale every weekend, it seems.

I got the amp. I can't say that it's a different amp, it sounds exactly like my other Roost, but that's exactly the way I want to sound. Damn, I guess I love these Roosts. Now all I need is a cab to go with it Glad that Univalve let me borrow a cab he doesn't use so I am set for a while, but I think I will need one that fits me and the amp better still. I was thinking something along the lines of a beat up Hiwatt 2x12 would be ideal.

Glad you went for the amp, man. Also...I'd say "TO CRAIGSLIST" but then I realize you're in Germany. Try Hex Cabs? They look dope as fuck.

True, man, they look as if they'd crush. But shipping a cab to germany would probably be a little stupid on the financial side of things. One of these days I'll rent a boat and go pick up a couple of Hex and Emperor cabs along with a Dunwich, a Verellen and a Hovercraft Head. But that's only when someone gives me a good offer for my mother.

I have really made a fucking mess! I figured this is the best thread to get some advice on how to clean up a GAS related mess I have going on. A few pages back I was wanting a Roland VB-99 or a Peavey MidiBase (or some variation of it, there are a few models). So, somehow I actually did score a rare Peavey MidiBase, it came with an extra control module (the brains, useless without it), the Rack synth, and a MidiMerge (sort of a midi control hub for hooking-up multiple midi controlled devices).

So, I found a deal on a Roland VB-99 and the FC300 (foot controller). Dude is letting me pay him in installments. I figured I could use the VB-99 to do some cool parallel signal stuff, it could handle all of my effects except dirt (it has some real cool polyphonic effects), and do the bit of synth stuff that my Band could use, a few parts on a few songs. I have payed $800 on the $1200 + shipping owed, and I have some more money to pay after I ship some stuff that I have sold.

Suddenly, I realize (again) that I am a student, who is trying to get better at living on a budget, that also has a mortgage on a house and a lady that needs to become his wife...
Therefore, I can't afford to have both of these pieces of awesome gear.

So, here are the options that I see.
1. Sell the MidiBase. Use the VB-99 in the band and in the electronica side project that I am in the process of bringing back from the dead. The VB-99 would be cool in the band, adding a unique element and the VB-99 would be good enough for the electronica side project, I couldn't use it to control my synth like I could with the MidiBase but It could make it work. Not bad for at all for still being in school.
2. Back out of the VB-99 deal. I would offer the guy someof the money for the trouble, so maybe I get back around $700. I would feel like a douche though, although I am sure this guy isn't selling the VB-99 and FC300 out of financial fear, I am sure he is decently well off financially. I don't HAVE to the VB-99 for my band, I could take the returned money and buy something like a Wounded Paw Ultra Blender for some cool parallel signal, And I keep the Peavey MidiBase, which is potentially Super Awesome Crazy for the electronica project, although, it would absolutely only be used for that, I couldn't drag it and what it takes to work along with my Bass Rig and Pedals to gigs for my band, so the band loses out on some synth parts. I am sick of synth pedals for bass.

A couple of points of information. The MidiBase is pretty rare, I got an okay price on it, I think I could get all of my money back fairly quickly. The Industrial Radio Midi Bass, a direct decendant of my MidiBase because the same guy engineered them and they use essentially the same technology maybe a bit of software differences, cost about $3850 new...I couldn't replace the MidiBase with a Midi Bass for years. Although, there could be some technology break through...cheaper, better?
The VB-99 has been out for 4 years as the Roland "Flagship" unit, the V-Bass which proceeded it had about an 8 year lifespan, so I wonder how long until Roland drops the VB-101 or whatever. I did recently have a V-Bass and I found it to be pretty badass, so that is why I got hot for the VB-99. The tracking was great, even on my B string.

Which would you keep?
