new packages of flats for the LP and the baritone

i was looking at those yesterday actually...and was thinking of getting the 7-string set and throwing away the 0.11...so that would take me to 15-65.

i would be keen to hear what you think of those strings.

they have been on my LP for quite some time already. Probably the last year I have used flats. I just tried Half-Rounds, hybirds between flats and round wounds but i dont like them as much as flats hence why im converting back

i might make that part of my LP update...going get some p90's put in, and then set it up with these fat 65's...its currently got 52's...so i guess it will need some set up work done.

actually talking about HCFX Doom Room...i was reading an interview with Black Arts Mark...and he was talking about how he started out. He mentioned that he built a pedal and told some Doom Room forum which he was on, and he started getting more orders and it took off from there.

was the Doom Room, the same HCFX Doom Room??

pretty much. my Pharaoh is number 13, first one in Europe. that was about 2.5 years ago, i guess. was fast rising venture for Mark, awesome for him. at that time there was only the HCGF Doom Room, which as also pretty big.

I havent really thought about that...but i really want the LSTR as a lot of my playing at home is low volume and i would get a bigger fuzz sound out of the LSTR at those volumes as opposed to the Pharaoh; and i already have a few good OD pedals. But ill have a look into the coven too, might as well cover all my bases!

I found the Black Forest sounded a lot better when cranked up. It's too pedal-like when the volume on your amp and pedal is down low. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, but I don't think it's at its best. The ss/bs Fuck Overdrive is better for a variety of volumes. It responds more like an amp, but it doesn't quite have the low-end of the BF—though the small box version supposedly has more.

Yep. If I had known the original was a limited edition pedal I would have bought one. I thought it sounded fantastic. I already had the original Ekko 616 and liked it, but the lo-fi modulation was an excellent addition and changed its voicing quite a bit.

When to jam with this guy. Turned out to have mixed feeling, he wanted to do that slow, fast, slow post rock. I was looking more to do insturmental sludgey/ambient type deal. Hopefully next session will be a little more awesome with a drummer and another guitarist.

Why don't you try to combine the two? If the jam felt natural then work with it. But if you were fighting to sound a certain way then it probably won't work out. One or both of you are just too stuck in your own passions and direction.

Yeah, I was, like a few of the other lads here, one of the early buyers. I think my three-year anniversary for knowing you fine folks is coming up soon. I bet Mark's sold well over 2,000 Pharaohs now. I'm really happy for him.

I was wondering does anyone know how the pharoah sounds through an orange amp? Honestly I'm still not digging my muff, I tried last night at practice and it was really meh to me. Not woofy enough, only slightly more than my rat. I wanted something absolutely woofy, this was supposed to replace my musket because that thing didn't react to great with my OR120.

I'm probably gonna end up giving up and trading it for an OCD at some point.
