The death metal thing was just for context, really what I was asking is what's a good cheap hardtail with a fast neck and bridge humbucker? I would play anything on any guitar, but you usually have to convert Strats to be hardtails.

The dudes in Iron Reagan use super strats, and they sound rad.

I think Jacksons would be my first suggestion too, but that's absolutely just a word association thing with "hardtail" and "fast neck" and images of Dave Mustaine-y douches shredding at every guitar store ever.

My main guitar is a Carvin Bolt Plus, which is a hardtail Super Strat. Freakin love it, replaced my old Gibson LP Custom, like it better. Some people get really mad about that for some reason. I just don't want to change the pickup and tuning on that. It's perfectly setup for stoner doom jams as is.

Well the only answer is another guitar.
