It has a really powerful EQ. Very versatile dirt pedal.
I was wondering the same thing about its popularity. Didn't quite work out for what I wanted to use it for, but it's a nifty pedal.

I have one. I love it. Got it from a Fuzz Bro for $175. Lots of sounds per the UI. I mean...17 KNOBS...and it is really small enclosure. Smaller than an average boss pedal. I personally find it is kind of hard not to bring with me when I jam with friends cause it takes up no space.
Why is it not more popular? I assume price. It is a $300 distortion brand new. The same reason I suspect the Protostar does not get more love, it's an expensive pedal (but in the case of the Protostar, quite literally everything you would want out of a filter pedal...I would argue the logical conclusion...everything I own from WMD I HIGHLY recommend [even their modular stuff I don't own, I recommend]).

They have a new line coming out that actually has a lot of appealing pedals for cheap. Tailspin vibrato being one.
