this thing sounds ungodly. The jack-off who owned it before me had a bass string where an "E" should be, so I've got this thing in Drop B. It sounds like you're trying to wake Cthulhu from his mighty slumber running into a Swollen Pickle and a loud amplifier.

Only downside? This thing hates my Fuzz Factory. They're not kidding when they say active pickups and fuzz factories don't mix.

I bet that sounds awesome in Drop B,...not necessarily what I'd expect to hear from a Strat. Is that an FSR?

My stokedness on active pickups has waned over the years,...especially since becoming hella interested in Fuzz Boxes. Can't say that I've ever played a guitar with actives in it,...but I've considered replacing the pups and pre in my Warwick Thumb Bass with some hot-ish passive pups. Not sure if I'm still gonna do that or just try to find a good Passive 5 string at some point.

Most recent pics of the Thumb.

Nope. It's a Japanese-made Foto Flame from 1994. And it is glorious.

Never used EMGs before, but, I can always sell for a decent price if I decide I don't like them.

Love that workbench James :!!!: Do you know how many of those Radio Shack magnifier fuck-stick holders I've broken over the years..... if I only had a nickel.

Actually I'd probably spend those nickels on hookers and bourbon.

Man that tele is turning out great, I like what you did with the controls! Is it satin or just stained/oiled? Looks killer. :thumb:

I've kept mine in drop B for a while now too, but since my other guitar is drop B as well, I'm thinking of putting the strat into drop C

its all just stain and oil for the finish. I think it ended up looking really good. I had him do the controls like that cause i HATE it when the toggle switch is up on the other side like a LP. I had an Ibanez Artist and it always got in my way, the tip broke on that thing cause id hit it so much.

When i have it at home all done, ill make a thread with all the pics that he sent me thru the whole process. I hope he gets it done this weekend. :!!!:

i already have plans on how i want him to build my next tele.
White finish, maple neck, big strat head stock, Tele custom pickguard, 2 tones, 2 vols, toggle down by the knobs and 2 HB size P90's.

like this one.
