Do you like the maple neck or the rosewood fretboard better, I prefer the maple neck my self, but since you have both I thought I would ask. :idk:

Scalloped Fingerboards,...Question is Invalid.

:p

Yet there is still a tonal difference. The maple seems brighter and the rosewood is warmer sounding. Must be the resonance (and absorbtion/reflection when not plugged in) of the wood types.

I don't want to alter the Yngwie Strat with the DiMarzio's. I need new pickups in the MIM Strat because its noisey. The Duncan's are too expensive for me. I'm going to get mini rails pickups that are noise cancelling.

Some Hohner guitar I found in my friend's basement. I have no idea what year it is or any info on it except that it's probably from the late 70's or 80's. I switched out the pickups with Gfs dream 90's

Serious boner for that wraparound bridge as well as the p90s and of course the goldtop.

I toyed with the idea of selling my Thumb at one point (I was gassing hard for a Fender American DLX Jazz 5er with and Aguilar OBP-1 and also a Modulus Genesis 5),...but I think I'd actually cut my thumb off and sell that before I sold my bass. I've owned it since summer of 2000. That's coming up on 12 years of constantly playing this bass,....and it's probably one of the few possessions that I've managed to keep over such a long period of time,...transition and growing up. It may not be the best bass in the world,...or even the best bass for me,...but I love it anyway and will never get rid of it.

I paid ~$1500 for it in 2000 and I highly doubt I could get that for it right now.

Is there any reason that you are looking for a 5er? If you are wanting that Low B you can always get a heavy gauge set of strings and a setup and go BEAD (leaving of the G). Might have to open the nut up a little bit to take the bigger strings so weigh your options before you do such a thing.

Thanks for talking me out of this guys. I know it's something I'd regret. That's why I ask your opinions. I am GASing for a decent 5, but I already have a 5. lol I just wanted a different one. Maybe I'll just get some new pickups for my Jackson and see if that makes me happy.

I used to have a Bongo that I kept in a low B, had the nut filed a tad by a Luthier and it sounded fucking GREAT! Pedal GAS caused the sale of that bass. This pedal addiction will be the end of me I believe. It's ridiculous. ;)

he needs to make a nut for and put the trees on the head stock. Then he'll string it up, do a set up and test it out. Needs to make sure the frets are all good and the the electronics are working correctly. Hes been working out of town so its been a bit of a slow process getting this thing. I cant wait tho, it "should" be done this weekend.
