I thought of about four things to type up in this thread, but after my thoughts become a cluster fuck of explination and serious emotions, I deleted it all.
Also, I've eaten four clementines today.

Clementines are tasty! I'm probably not doing as well as I thought. Spending some time talking about how I'm doing in general with a friend who has taken a year off from uni for depression and he was worried about how I'm feeling... YES.

Since I woke up I have had more than a half a dozen cups of coffee. I'll probably have another 5 today.

Honestly,dudes...I could give a fuck about guitar/music. I'm sick of playing, and most everything else I usually like today. Weather, perhaps?

Yeah... What's odd is that on the weekends I'll usually have just 2 sips of my girlfriends coffee when I wake up, and then I won't drink any more coffee all day. Every once in a while I'll cut down my weekday coffee drinking to 1 cup a day, and that will last for a few months and then suddenly I'll be drinking 10 cups a day again.

I hate this kind of feeling. I never know how to resolve it, either.
Usually happens through "chance."

the only thing i can make myself give a fuck about music-wise at the moment is playing Sigur Ros songs because they make me feel peaceful. last night i spent hours working on "Samskyeti," the third track on the untitled album, and before that i was working on my weird fingerpicking acoustic guitar arrangement of "Njosnavelin" (aka "track 4") where i play the guitar melody with harmonics. i love the original idea of "Samskyeti" of two passages of different lengths repeated and going in/out of phase with each other, that Steve Reich thing. and that piece is just powerful...i used to play a version of it from an Austrian FM radio broadcast when i was ambient DJing and people would come up to me and ask "where can i get that?" and i'd have to tell them "you can't yet...it'll be on the next album which is coming out next year." i must have sold ten copies of that record.

and no, i'm not looking up the special characters for the Icelandic titles. i sometimes care enough to do it for German, but usually use the workarounds; however, you can't do that for cod-Germanisms in English, so i usually don't bother to do the umlauts for Husker Du, Motorhead, et al. Anyway, i try to follow conventions for Germanic languages because we have German-speakers here, but until we have somebody from Reykjavik i'm not fucking around with those thorns and conjoined ae vowels and shit. sorry, Jonsi. i love you, but fuck that.

Sigur Ros is one of those bands I can't even believe play instruments. Their music is just audible amazingness.
Then I saw this:

Mind blowing.

I missed catching the Ros live in '06. Knew about the show, didn't go, developed a love of them afterward.
Mega bummer.

I haven't seen them since the tour before Takk, but i got to see them two or three times in the early 00s. i saw that first big theatre tour they did with just the four-piece after Agaetis Byrjun broke here, which i guess was in 2000, and then saw the tour with the string section and the Album Leaf opening. boy, was THAT lovely.
