Fallout vs Skyrim. I looooved fallout 3 and new vegas. I'm on the line between buying skyrim or buying fallout 3 agian but the game of the year edition with all the add-ons. I never played any of the addition content. Is skyrim essentially the same game except dragons and magical powers? What should I dooooooooooo
I'd go with Fallout. Skyrim is fun, but I got burnt out pretty quickly on it. Never felt that way about either Fallout games.
This. Skyrim is a mile wide and an inch deep, in my experience. New Vegas has a lot more depth to it, IMO.

Great Magic Broadsword+15 = Fuck yoooooou Dark Souls!

Haha I invaded some 13 year old kid last night and he immediately invited me to chat and pleaded with me not to kill him (still level 15, he was apparently in the 120's lulz) and that he'd give me a bunch of cool shit. Gave me a bunch of boss souls, souls of great heroes, 10 twin humanities haha I hit the motherload....then he talked my ear off for over an hour.

Fallout vs Skyrim - I've got all the DLC's for Fallout 3...know that to trigger the transition to Broken Steel, you must play thru the MQ entirely (the trans happens at the very end of the MQ). There is a mod available that allows you to trans to BS after finding Smith Casey's garage, but I haven't installed it yet an so I don't know how well it works.
On other news, GOG's got a bunch of OG shooters on sale this weekend, including the Duke Nukem titles.

Yeah. I loved the shit out of Skyrim and have played around 150 hours, but New Vegas is much more of an RPG, while Skyrim is just a draugr killing simulator. I like Skyrim for other reasons, but it's not deep and the quests aren't great.

Very atmospheric. Graphics are top notch. Cool story. Good game, but I never finished it.

Asking again if anyone's been able to successfully launch Steam...at this point, I can't get it to do anything except crash. Steam support is no help either...but they rarely are, IMO.

Steam seems to be working fine for me. PC spec? Have you tried the old uninstall then reinstall deal?

Planning to start a Morrowind play through with a load of graphics mods, haven't played the game in a long time and I'm a little more eager after playing Dragonborn DLC.
Anyone else interested in the released PS4 specs? I do prefer PCs for practicality and quality.
I am skeptical about the screenshots, they can be produced but whether or not they're just proving how powerful they are or how good the games are going to be. Actually, I don't get how graphics are such a big thing... the best games aren't exactly the most demanding and at least in the PC area, games like Thief, Half Life, System Shock all have community based HD patches.
I don't really like the push for adverts and tightly controlling the gaming market on PS and Xbox
Jeremy H. from Penny- Arcade posted about this and hits it spot on as he has many times before by stating that gaming is going the way of the PC. I agree with this 100%, the new PS4 already looks and feels like a gaming PC. I am not too entirely impressed with what came out because I feel like I have seen this launch already. I will have sony call me when my PS3 finally dies.
What I can't stand is the whole social integration that they are pushing on this platform. I guess it is for a new generation of gamers that what too show the mundane achievements on games that do not last like their predecessors. I hope I can just turn that shit off.

Machine's well above min. spec, if that's what you're asking about. And I'm afraid that the un/re-install may be my only option...as long as I can salvage my heavily-modded Fallout; New Vegas install, I don't really mind having to do a reinstall...as long as it fixes the problem. Some folks have done the same thing, hoping that it would get their copy running again, and/but it didn't.
Gotta say that, while Steam has run well for me overall, when Valve does screw it up, they screw it up ROYALLY.

I'm in the process of playing through it. There are a few game mechanics I don't like (changing out air filters is the main one) but the atmospheric visuals and game play and story are good. I'm hoping Metro: Last Light is still coming out. Definitely worth a shot to check out in my opinion.
