I was reading Crash around Christmas time (I've had it for years, I guess the passing of Dick Allen finally made me pick it up) and Dick Allen called him the Ultimate Gentleman. Which, from Dick Allen, is a huge huge compliment.
Always loved watching highlights of him play (moreso than any player from before my time).

Crash was too little regarded in Philly in his time...not that surprising for Philly, which frequently hates the ones it should love.
