Those are in the same vein as what I posted. They are made to appeal to the same people that think tort/burst are swanky.
The only reason to own a sunburst is because that is the only color you could get whatever you wanted was available in at the time.

I only like burst finishes on semi/hollow body guitars. When being fancy feels more appropriate.
Solid bodies look best in solid finishes. Even with stickers, dents, dings & rub wear.
....IDK...

maybe it's a preference for vanilla
Dress shoes are ugly when scuffed up and without shine
Chuck Taylors are ugly when duct-taped and falling apart
But there's something low key beautiful about the latter
