I dont know how BM i consider it but I definitely get a Gorgoroth, under the sign of hell vibe from some of it.

Cobalt is sweet. I think I have them labelled in my Itunes as "Black / Avant-War Metal" lol...

There was some talk about that in the doom room. I'm pretty meh on it.

Also, going to see FoR next week -- if anyone wants merch I can snag it and mail it?

So this new Mastery....

https://theflenser.bandcamp.com/album/valis

Fucking nuts, but when I'm in the mood for it (kinda rare), it's the fucking best.

New Leviathan is pretty dope, I've got the CD in the car and I've been listening to it quite a bit at home too. Love the packaging for the CD.

New Taake is also solid: https://candlelightrecordsusa.bandcamp. ... egs-vaapen

Can't wait for my copy of Valis to arrive. Sweet album. Also just got this in the mail:

Probably going to be picking up that Ghost Bath, and Botanist VI: Flora soon too.

I was just about to text you about that. I think I'm going to make it, but it's a tuesday and I'm carless, so we'll see.

Dude def show up if you can. One or two of my friends from down near Providence are going to be coming through too. It's going to be a sweet show.

Yeah I'll try, for sure. Yob are one of my favorites and they almost never play around here, but the logistics are looking super dicey right now.

Falls of Rauros tomorrow night. I love that they're local.

I like that most of the stuff on Profound Lore actually has good production. So sick of the Fisher-Price my-first-cassette-player production style.

Profound Lore in general has been killing it lately. I don't listen to everything they put out, but I like what I do hear from them.

I haven't read this entire thread, because I'm a jerk. :omg:

I spent some years chasing all kinds of new and different black metal bands, only to finally realize that the best stuff really comes from the classic '90s Norwegian scene. Darkthrone, Emperor, Ulver, Burzum, Helheim, Borknagar, Mayhem, Forgotten Woods, Enslaved, etc.

And I do still like some new stuff. Volahn are great and I adore many Profound Lore bands. I'll always always always jump on new Enslaved, Drudkh, and Agalloch (if they count). Nasheim probably put out the best new black metal I've heard in a decade. Blah blah blah...

Nasheim's new release was great. Almost everything Northern Silence has been putting out recently has been good. The new Saor, Ghost Bath, Woods of Desolation, Ered Wethrin, Emyn Muil, etc.
