SO ACTUALLY DO IT!!!!
MSUsousaphone wrote:Feminism is NOT about the power to choose. Feminism IS sexism. Feminism is about trying to be the dominant sex. Really. If I started spouting off about Malism, would you think I'm for equality or a sexist pig?
If anything, people held punches just because she's a chick. I've seen this forum get pretty crazy (check out goat entrails a few pages back). My opinion is that there was some benevolent sexism going on in that she didn't get it as hard as a dude would have. But that's usually the way of it. Some chicks will bitch and bitch about equality, and then as soon as guys start treating her rough like she's just one of the guys, they start complaining about how guys are too mean to them and we're sexist pigs. More of...we finally started acting like guys around you because you said that's what you wanted.
The truth of the matter is that equality is stupid. A pipe dream and a dumb notion. Now...every human being on this planet should ALL have the same rights and pay wages and all that good stuff. But there will ALWAYS be stuff guys should not do/say around chicks and vice versa. It rarely goes well when a woman just wants to be treated as "one of the guys". We're just not set up that way biologically.
And anyways, only 10% of this thread has been about FBG....and most of the negative things said about her is the arrogance she came to this forum with and speculation on whether or not she is fugly or a voice over. So more an attack on her approach and musings of her actual self.
substance:
feminism as sexism
-again, false notion as someone else pointed out. misandry != feminism, and more often than not misandry equates to someone telling you that saying "some dumb bitch" is sexist, because it is. feminism is a belief built upon the facts that 1. throughout history, women have not been treated as equals to men and 2. women should be treated as equals to men. the only instance of feminism decrying men was with the literally completely discredited S.C.U.M. feminist movement. which you obviously have in mind as the only feminists which is about as fucking stupid as saying that all religious people are jihadists or Pat Robertson. a generalization of something that you (seem to be) willfully ignorant about.
people held punches
-the goat posting was a sidetrack and irrelevant to what was being discussed (reinforced by you saying only 10% has been about her). personally, the people i know who REALLY fucking love gore are all chicks, so no sort of "too hardcore 4 laydeez" there. hell have you even BEEN in a women's restroom? and besides, the offending folks don't hold punches with Devi now do they.
equality as stupid
-completely stupid to say that particularly considering the massive strides in social acceptance of minorities in relation to socio-economic gain and the growth of nations. and yes, this correlation has evidence as causation (expanding workforce, happy workforce in relation to productivity, wider particupation in govenrment = more accurate and satisfactory lawmaking, etc. etc.). also its funny how you say immediately after that "everyone should have the same rights"
"some chicks"
-not all. not even the majority. "some x" is not a valid representation or observation in any capacity other than suppositious generalizing and stereotyping.
"we're not set up that way biologically"
-false dichotomy by applying a rather naive view of biological evolution to gender politics in the modern world. those biological principles do not apply on this scale and should not be mentioned or even considered as a valid argument in that context. it seems like you're under the blindingly incorrect notion that "men only talk to chicks they want to bang" or at least the fundamental logic behind that (being men cannot interact with women as if they were a man). and i guarantee that even you're friends with women you dont even plan on fucking and treat them as one of the guys.
-her approach/whether she's fugly or not
apparently you haven't read what i wrote earlier about this so i'll summarize. using sex to make an appeal (particularly on top of substance being equal to other reviews sans the icing on the cake) is cheap, but is in no way sexist, and reinforcing the double standard of "girls can't be sexy" or whatever is hella dumb. particularly considering the corny pin-up way she does it. coming in to this forum, all i remember was an in character thread about how she does review videos and stuff. and whether she's attractive or not; why the fuck should you even care
so there, i've discussed your points. so as i said in the first place; you're working under a false definition of feminism
now please stop pretending you know more about it, or tagging along in posting cop-out dismissive pics

1) I get that. It's stupid that people think the way to erase years of being treated unequally is to be treated even better than others. Case in put, "some stupid bitch is sexist". Had I said "that dumb asshole" about a dude, that's not sexist. Feminists are looking to have nothing disparagingly said with any feminine twinge in it to a female.....but it's totally acceptable to use masculine ones against a man...that's not promoting equality. It's preferential treatment..SEXISM.
2) This is a very masculine forum. And punches were totally held. This was backed up and supported by others who held the punches.
3) That's cool in all....but this entire point that you made
"completely stupid to say that particularly considering the massive strides in social acceptance of minorities in relation to socio-economic gain and the growth of nations. and yes, this correlation has evidence as causation (expanding workforce, happy workforce in relation to productivity, wider particupation in govenrment = more accurate and satisfactory lawmaking, etc. etc.)."
kinda has absolutely nothing to do with anything we've talked about....I'm guessing you found a cool quote in a text book or something and tried to fit it in somewhere....since I haven't seen a single person talk about women not deserving equal job opportunities or wage....it's your most valid point and is actually backed up with a lot of support....it just got misplaced in a conversation that it had nothing to do with. Or maybe you have me mixed up with another poster....?
4) "some chicks"
not all. not even the majority. "some x" is not a valid representation or observation in any capacity other than suppositious generalizing and stereotyping.
Cool. You at some point learned the definition of "some". This will help us out in further conversations. Glad you agree with my assessment.
5) That's actually NOT a widely accepted . I assume you adhere to the Tabula Rasa theory that all people are born as blank slates. The opposite theory is that we a born with inherit knowledge and skills. While we can't exactly get in to any ACTUAL fact proving here as we would just be spouting different people's theories back at each other and nothing is proven...it's all guesses at this point, we can at least say that the viewpoints that you gave that the difference of gender being more learned that ingrained in our DNA is not shared by me....and most psychologists...and is actually only adopted by the extremists in the behaviorist movement. So we can agree to disagree.
6) That's cool. I never actually called her sexist for making the vids. Must have me confused with someone else. My gripe with the vids is that she's not playing a bass and it is widely known that all hot broads play bass. No harm no foul there.
