Yeah I have one that I got after that photo along with a few other things. The MKIII is a lovely pedal and does really really well with my Esquire.

That mayo? There are 3 on that board!

Yeah, but the Mayonaise isn't exactly like the Mayo. Close, but not exact. Plus they go for way more than even the Mayo does. At least with the Mayo I'm not too poor that I can't dream about getting one. But who are we kidding? They're all Big Muffs.

 I learn something new everyday. I'm really a newbie when it comes to boutique pedals. This is definitely the forum to learn.

I saw this picture of Hendrix, all he used was a wah.... And not even the Jim Dunlop Jimi Hedrix wah, just some old thing.....
Jimi didn't realise the horrible tone suck we had to listen to every time he used that wah.

Mayonaise is a 100% exact 1971 Big Muff replica. Mayo is a refined triangle circuit to get the Siamese Dream tones. Mayonaise MKII is an attempt to get as close to the original Mayonaise tone with transistors that were too high gain to use in the original pedal.

That album is one of my all-time top fives. That song alone helped me get through high school. I WANT THEM ALL

...but honestly, the approximation I can get via Hoof is more than okay with me.

I had a hoof once upon a time and really liked it. I sold it because I thought I had too many muffs which in retrospect was a little silly. I ended up designing my own Ge muff thing and using that a lot though which was fun :)

Except Siamese Dream is a late 70s op-amp muff, which until BC posted pics of his you could snag on ebay for $90

I dont really see that as a big deal. The Mayo was designed to capture the sound of a record and that muff BC has is only part of that sound. The sound of the rest of the signal chain got folded into the tweaks Marc designed into the Mayo and thats why I like it so much more than an Opamp muff. Its thicker and clearer and lower noise. Its a more durable pedal with more consistency from unit to unit. Its one of my favorite pedals Marc has made and I'd much sooner use it for a SP cover than a vintage EHX muff :)
