If you don't know, Bill designed a fair amount of Seymour Duncan's stuff, was Larry DiMarzio's mentor & Teacher, and makes hands down the best pickups on the planet. For like half the price of any of those guys.

One of my close friends/ The Cellist in one of my band worked with him for a bit, he knows what the fucks up. When i need pickup help, he's the dude to go to. I generally look for an even response in my pickups that i can get to scream, growl, sing, chug and shimmer, and honestly bills L-90 can go from shimmer to HEAVY in like the click of an AB-Synth.

I don't consider it hot but, the Dimarzio super distortion is very nice to me.
I can recommend for it being very good for mathrockesque Semi-driven overdrive tones.
Pair it with a less powerful neck pickup and you're set
