The smallest ones are a half inch in diameter, which I believe is fairly standard.

$5 each?!
I think I've been spoiled by the 50 cent knobs at surplus electronics shops. The other day I hesitated to pay $2 for 3 knobs, but then I realized I'd never seen them before. Check them out!

Those are great! Bet they'd be pretty easy to control with the foot. Very jealous indeed.
