Wow, this is rough. Definitely can't do just 3. So I guess I'll cheat like everyone else.

Also, they are still putting out a great live show. I saw them last year at 2am in the sweltering heat and nothing could detract from how awesome they were.

ummm, yeah that sucked. This list could completely change in the next 30 seconds. Couldn't we just pick 3 bands we could take credit for being a member of? That might make it a little easier.

One song I'd definitely want credit for would be "Black Sabbath." Tri-tone, doomy goodness. Plus, I could take credit for inventing metal...which I suppose could be a double-edged sword.
While the title specifically mentions songs...I'll name a piece of music I'd take credit for, which would be Steve Reich's "Music for 18 Musicians." So much done with so little. It's amazing.
And...I dunno...Bach's first chorale, or something. That way I could take credit for western music in general.
