plus an eq lets ALL of your dirt pedals peer through a kaleidoscope of colors, expanding greatly what you can get from them.

I think the cool thing about EQ pedals is that unless you’re like “a pro” (gear AND attitude  ) you could do just fine with a beige Boss 7 band. I initially bought the MXR dealy with lit up sliders and shit and felt like a wad. Plus it has a stupid adapter (18v?). Flipped it for a Boss that cost me $70 and I have zero reason to upgrade.
yeah but the mxr has sick tribals and says kerry fitzgerald king on it so obviously more better

for real though I feel I get down better with the frequency selection on the mxr better. That or the brown boss one. Though I am nuts enough to run a parametric if i use an EQ

I'm lost in the sauce, boys. Too many options and all them have flaws. I'm already heavy in clang town with this rig. Need to take it to flavortown with an EQ pedal.

Isn't the beige Boss 7 band eq exactly what "pro's" (gear AND attitude) put on their boards though? :p

I put a cheapo MXR 6-band EQ (non-tribal version, sadly) in the loop of my amp as a boost and/or tone shaper/fixer.
But than I switched amps, don't have an fx loop anymore, nor anything to shape/fix.

im pretty sure pete cornish just straight up puts GE7s in his pedals instead of building his own EQ section
